[Present day, TOL secret compound:]

I enter the office of Headmaster Creed.
Upon my arrival, which was less than half an hour, he didn't hesitate to request my presence.
To be honest, I'm still thinking about them. Valerie, Ben, Jian, Amaya and Aiden.

The looks on their face were unbearable.
I broke the bond we shared for so long now. They trusted me and- no.
No. Stop this.
You knew what you signed up for. This is something you have to live with now.

The office is the only room that isn't gray and light blue like the rest of the compound, but brown.
There is a couch on the left and a long, light carpet on the ground as well as a table, completed with a high chair in front of an even larger window.
The window that Headmaster Creed is looking out right now.

"Ah, agent 141, I've been awaiting you for quite some time now." He turns around and for the first time in my life, I see his expression somehow pleased.

I stop by the carpet.

"You did an excellent job. Of course, there were some issues along the way, but otherwise our plan worked out well."

I reply with a short nod:
"It was my honor to complete this mission, sir."

"Well then, you can't expect me not to give you your loan."

"My what?"

"This wasn't an easy mission, especially for such a young, yet skilled, agent like you. So after I talked to the council we decided to give you the title of the best agent in your rank."

He talked with the council about this? I wonder when.

What interests me the most though is if Carmine was present.
The first thing I wanted to do was meet him, ask if I actually did a good job, but I was told that he'd gone on a mission this morning and will be busy for some days.

"Oh, eh- thank you very much, sir."

"You don't seem to be very excited."

"No- I am really thankful. I'm just a bit exhausted after the mission, I suppose."

He shrugs:
"I understand. Then I would advise you to rest properly because soon we will begin with the next step."

"The next step, sir?"

"Yes, as you already know, all of our agents will be fighting against the agents of AGI. But that is merely a distraction from the real plan."

What is he talking about?
Why do I feel like he made last minute changes? Or was this planned beforehand? Just like the assassination?

"Our labs have made drones. They're like killer machines, not stopping until they've eliminated the target.
I'm sure you've seen them. The drones will help us in our real fight. And though we may have less agents than the academy, we have their weapon."
He glances the case in my hand.
I had almost forgotten about it.
Immediately, I hand it over and step back when he takes the case to his table, opening it as he continues:

"I'm sure you're curious what you have stolen for us."

He holds up some kind of pistol shaped weapon with a sharp needle on its end:
"This right here is an ability ejector, and like the name already says, it can eject ANY Gifted's ability."

"This- this is unbelievable, but... why are you telling me this?"

He eyes me for a brief moment and then answers:
"Only you, I and Doctor Snyder of all the TOL agents know about this, 141.
And since your skills and knowledge have proven themselves as remarkable, I would want you to use that weapon against the academy's agents in our fight.
Just imagine, with you being able to teleport, you yourself could become an untouchable weapon."
