(Zain Volkov pov.)

The city is filled with sounds of shooting and fighting.

What an interesting way to start a day.

A drone flies towards me and then gets destroyed by George, who is in the air.
Truly, he's glad to be able to use his ability without limits, having no walls or ceilings to hold him back.

He cheers:
"Ha, you thought you could-"

Before he can finish his sentence, suddenly a drone flies into him, making George fall down on the ground.

It seems like there still are some limitations after all.
Slowly recovering, he leans on the elbows and eyes the drone hovering in front of him:

"Want to talk about it?"

In the next moment, the drone gets impaled by a levitating rod.
Except it's not really levitating.
Samir turns visible again, holding the rod in his hands.
He remarks while helping George to his feet:

"I think he wasn't up for a talk."

"Right on time as always, buddy. Thanks."

My attention shifts away from him and towards the four drones circling me from all sides.
Only glancing at them for a moment, before one begins shooting at me.

Now that's what I'm talking about.

Quick as a flash, I phase through the blasts, leaving the two drones behind me to shoot one another.
The other drones exchange gunfire as I smile to myself.

And they say you can't learn anything from video games.

"Someone looks delighted." Alya nods as she stabs a drone with her walking stick. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself."

She yanks a gun out of the handle of the cane, shooting some drones.

"I am, this is far better than training at the academy."

"*gasps* What? You don't like my lessons?"

"I don't like your warm-ups.
Can I have a gun as well?"

"You don't like the way I teach, you don't get a gun." Alya declares and attaches the weapon back again, no it looks no different than any other cane.

Ohh- I'm so gonna get it.

"Ms. Volkov- there is a swarm coming up and I don't know if we can keep them all away!" George announces as he lingers above, pointing at the drones in the distance.

Alya look in that direction with no worry whatsoever.

I observe her expression:
"What is it? This is your: I-have-a-trick-up-my-sleeve kind of face."

"Ты меня так хорошо знаешь."
(*You know me so well.*)

Alya shrugs with a smile and turns around:
"And the so-called "trick" is already here. Or rather- they are."

Not sure who she means because the machines approach with high speed from several directions and I prepare myself to face them, as does George and Samir beside me.
But they're not even able to fire at us due to lighting striking out of the clear blue sky.
It hits one of them, then another and another, connecting them in a chain of pure energy.
When it stops, all of them fall motionless to the ground, leaving dust around them.
My mind grasps whose ability this is.

No. Freaking. Way.

"What was that?!" George's eyes widen as he slowly descends next to Samir.

"Is it actually-"

I stare at Alya when someone calls out of the dust cloud:
"Hey, you look like you need some help!"

When the view clears, we see who it is.
The same TOL trio that attacked the others, though I'm not sure if the girl with reddish hair already had a scar above her right eye. However, that's not the important thing, since it's and not only their appearance.
Wade is with them.

He's grown even taller.

I haven't seen him for quite some time now.
Of course, if there's someone Alya would ask for help, it's him.
Their relationship doesn't make any sense, but it is what it is.

"Wait, aren't they the ones who-" Samir gets interrupted by the same black boy:

"Yes, yes, that's us. Save the applause for later, would you?"

Samir raises an eyebrow, looking skeptical for the first time ever.
Alya and Wade step forward.
The tension is not to be overlooked as they stop short in front of each other.
I really do not understand what in the world is happening right now.

He really did come back?
Only because of Alya?

Wade finally asks:
"Do you always have to include me in your schemes?"

She counters his question:
"Do you always have to come late?"

"Please, you just missed me."

"Actually, I kind of saved you from your Headmaster so-"

"Wade?" I blurt out at last, unable to keep my curiosity to myself.

"Oh, hi Zain! You've grown!"

"Yeah-"

I was barely 8 years old when Alya told me about Wade's decision to leave AGI. Obviously I had not understood why and still hadn't asked the question.
Later his decision became clear to me, yet I can't deny it, I've missed him too.
From what I remember, he can be a silly guy.
A silly guy who joined the most criminal organization, but that's beside the point.

"Wait, why of all people are you here?" George questions.

"We found out about Creed's real plans and ran away, although it seems like you had already planned that." The girl with long brown hair answers, looking at Alya.

"Hate to break this lovely conversation, but we have some trash incoming."
The other girl walks past us, eyeing a new wave of drones incoming, ready to take down each and every single one of them.
We follow her, falling in line next to one another.
The redhead nudges the short girl:
"Make sure to go easy on yourself, understood?"

I hear Alya telling Wade:
"This reminds me of something."

"Getting all nostalgic?"

"Don't get any ideas."

They both smirk, the space around Wade starts to crackle with energy and Alya grabs her trusty cane.

Charging into battle, we were ready to finish every last of these drones. Determination is what boosted their strength.

It's strange, really. Those who considered the others as enemies once were now fighting alongside each other. As if their alliances hadn't been waging wars for years.

However, that didn't matter because everyone knew: They had a war to fight right now, so the unpleasant events of the past were washed away in an instant.
Once more, everything around us turned into a battlefield.
Stones and daggers racing towards the drones, all that punching, kicking and stabbing involved...

I feel like I'm in a movie.
