Chapter 38 (a)

Jungkook enters their shared room, the tail of his hanbok that wraps around his waist sweeps the floor, tracing the red carpet that covers the hallway.

He nods at the soldiers who bow at him, the habit they had picked from the hearings of the head alpha. Jungkook had told them once that they don't really need to bow at him each time he enters or exists the chamber since he does it quite a few times a day. But the soldiers had dutifully denied his order saying, they aren't just doing it as a part of their job in fact they bow at him out of respect.

Jungkook couldn't say anything after that and had to accept their respect with open hands.

As he opens the door of their shared room, the huge wooden doors make a creaking sound as they open for the luna to enter. He inhales the alpha's scent that comes with a force, entering his nostrils.

He makes his way towards the bed, sitting in a comfortable position, his back resting on the backrest. He feels overwhelmed. The overwhelming feeling that he feels each time the alpha scents him is just so precious that it makes his heart pump the blood to his cheeks.

His inner alpha melts inside him as he finds solace under the shelter of his mate's scent. His alpha wolf purrs, he himself feels overwhelmed.

Both Jungkook and his inner alpha wolf had never felt or experienced what being cared for feels like. Never did anyone make them feel wanted nor safe.

But now as he finds himself surrounded by his alpha's scent, he just can't ignore the fact that he feels safe. The alpha's scent filled with strong pheromones of a trueblood makes him feel devoid of any negative energy. Maybe, it's the alpha who's purposely scenting him in a way that he could feel the emotions he is experiencing right now.

Now that he has spent a fair amount of time with the alpha, he could pinpoint the times when the alpha had indirectly showed his care and respect to him.

He clearly remembers the day he and the queen had come to visit Phoenix for the first time. He was annoyed when he was asked to sit beside the alpha, his mind asking him not to. The hatred he had towards truebloods was so strong in his mind that he had ignored the way the alpha had indirectly treated him.

He remembers the alpha sitting at a respectful distance from him even irrespective of the small spaced sofa. Now that he sees the sofa almost everyday, he wonders how the alpha even sat in such a small space. Because he is sure that he was the one who had covered most of the space.

One thing he clearly recollects from that day is the way he had suddenly felt calm.
The feeling that someone experiences when they meditate. At that time he had thought that the calmness he was feeling must be due to Jin's smile or Namjoon's comforting words but now that he thinks of it, he is sure that it was the alpha who had spread those calming pheromones in the air.

While he was busy thinking of all the scenarios where the alpha had taken things into his own hands in order to make him feel loved, he remembered the reason behind his visit to the library a few minutes ago.

He was supposed to inform Jin and other pack members about the affirmation given by the alpha for the bonfire fest that is supposed to be conducted today. He was so overwhelmed by the alpha's scent following him wherever he goes that he forgot about everything else.

He quickly gets up from the bed, arranging the bed neatly before making his way out of the chamber.  He needs to tell this good news to everyone.

He walks down the hallway, his doe eyes scanning the chamber of the library where he knows that Taehyung is present. He smiles at the thought of the alpha scenting him.
