Jungkook inhales a deep breath, breathing in the fresh morning air. Surprisingly, it's not snowing today. It's good news because, Taehyung will be able to reach home safely and faster if it doesn't snow today.
The alpha had mindlinked him yesterday and had told him that he'll be back by tonight. Jungkook is eagerly waiting for Taehyung's arrival. He has made a list of things that he is going to prepare for Taehyung's birthday.
The first thing is a birthday cake.
From what Taehyung had told him once, his favorite fruit is strawberry. So, Jungkook is going to bake a strawberry cake for him. When he had told his idea of baking a cake for Taehyung to Jin yesterday, the other was surprised.
Apparently, Phoenix never had the tradition of baking cakes for birthdays. This is the first time someone is going to bake a cake on a birthday. Jungkook hopes that Taehyung will love the cake he is going to bake.
He heads towards the garden with a small wooden tray in his hands. His eyes skim over the strawberries that have grown in their garden. He remembers Taehyung telling him once how strawberries were the first fruit he had planted in this garden.
He plucks a few of them, gently plucking them out. He observes each one of them carefully. He needs the best strawberries for the cake so that he can impress Taehyung with his baking skills.
After plucking a handful of them, he makes his way towards the kitchen. Jungkook had already prepared the required ingredients for the cake yesterday so that he doesn't miss out on anything.
He greets the guards and fellow pack members on his way, all of them being busy with Taehyung's birthday celebration. Tomorrow it's going to be a feast for them all.
Jungkook has planned to give Taehyung a surprise today, sharp at zero'o clock. He wants to make every minute of Taehyung's birthday special. And what's best than confessing his feelings within the starting hour of Taehyung's birthday?
He just hopes that the alpha arrives on time.
"Jungkookie, I have asked the cooks to leave the kitchen. You can prepare the batter right now and then bake it in the evening. ", Jin informs as soon as he enters the kitchen.
Jungkook greets the omega with a smile, a light blush appearing on his face. Shyness is clearly visible on his face. Jin and Namjoon are the only two who know about his plan and so going in front of them makes him shy.
"Okay, hyung. ", Jungkook bids Jin goodbye. Almost pushes him out of the kitchen when the other tickles his stomach with a teasing glint in his eyes. Jin has been teasing him since yesterday.
Jungkook takes out a bowl full of water before washing the strawberries clean. He further continues by separating their leaves and chopping them into small pieces.
He mixes a few of the strawberries with sugar and butter, making a strawberry jam out of it. He will spread the jam in between the cake layers.
Once done, Jungkook sets it aside as he continues with the preparation of the cake batter. He first mixes the wet and dry ingredients, adding a few drops of strawberry essence in it.
