I have been here now for over a week. Nothing really exciting happened over the week. I got named 'the perfect gardener', as Newt told me. After our fight everything went back to how it was before.

Besides that my eyes never left the maze. Minho and Thomas came back with some sort of metal thing with a number on it a few days ago. It was from the griever Thomas killed. I wasn't in the inner circle, but Newt told me that the creators were the ones who made the grievers.

It was already weird that the creators took our memories and put us here in the Glade. But to also make the creatures that were programmed to kill us. They are kind of bipolar I decided on.

The other thing is that Alby is also a runner now. I found it weird, as he is the first in command, but I guess they have to have three. I don't know why they didn't pick me, maybe because I am still not part of their family.

The other thing my eyes never left was a particular blond boy. He was working with the builders today, making my hut as they thought it was better to have one of my own.

Even from across the field I could see him working on the roof in his orange tank. My eyes never left his form, but my peace had to be disturbed by Elias. He was the other track-hoe, but I haven't talked to him a lot.

"If you keep looking at him like that I will think you have a special power once he falls of the roof."

I quickly averted my eyes from the blond and focused on the plants before me.

"Shut up." I quietly mumbled to Elias. I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment.

He laughed out loud and walked back to his annoying cucumbers.

I was disturbed from my work when I heard a faint 'help. I let go of my work items and stood up straight. I again heard a faint help. I turned myself around looking all around the Glade, seeing if anyone else heard it, but everyone was distracted.

"Help!" It was now loud and clear making some gladers stop their work. I turned my head towards the entrance to the maze.

I threw my knife I was holding into the ground, impaling it. I sprinted towards the maze doors.

Once I stood in front of it I saw three figures huddled up together.

Alby laid lifeless on Minho and Thomas, who were dragging him.

"Cassie help!" Minho yelled at me once he saw me standing at the end of the Glade.

I looked down at the line, the forbidden line. I was not allowed to take even one step in the maze, but the pleading look on Minho's face told me different. I made my choice when I saw him falling to his knees.

I sprinted into the maze, and helped Minho up, and put his arm around my shoulders. Thomas was a few feet before me carrying an unconscious Alby.

"What happened in there?" I questioned him. I turned my head slightly so I could see his face. My eyes grew wide once I saw a purple bruise forming around his neck.

Minho went to answer me, but someone yelled out my name. I turned around with Minho leaning almost all his weight on me.

Gally came into view, and quickly put himself in my spot.

"Thanks Gal." He nodded at me and took Minho towards the med-jack hut where Alby was also taken to.

I walked behind the two injured, once I was inside, I saw Alby being strapped against the bed, which confused me even more. I charged at the person who was tying up his feet.

"Hey, why-" I felt hands around my waist, and I got pulled against a hard chest. I struggled out of the hold, but they held my arms against my own body. I looked down, and went to stomp my feet on theirs, but the accent stopped me.

"He got stung."

I calmed down and looked at Alby's body. His face was all red, and small spots of blood were found around his eye. But that was the least interesting thing.

They lifted his pants leg all the way up. There it was, the stung. There was a dark purple hole in Alby's upper leg. Light purple veins were moving away from it, each an inch long. I compared it to the one of Ben and his were already a few inches long in my mind.

Does that mean it spreads? It spreads through your body, until you are one with the virus.

I turned my head and saw Minho sitting on a chair in the corner. His head in his hands, looking down at the floor.

I moved Newts arms that were around my waist and walked up to the boy. I kneeled down in front of him. I placed a hand on his knee, making him look up at me.

I saw the purple spot more clear now. I also took notice of how his hands were red with bruises and cuts.

Minho looked down in sadness. I gave him a comforting smile and stood up again. I walked up to the plank with alcohol and grabbed a small bottle. I also took a cloth out of the drawer and I made my way back towards the boy.

I grabbed his hand and wiped away the blood on his hands. He didn't spoke, just followed my movement.

"It is okay, you had to do to what you have to do." I told him softly so no one would hear me. "You saved yourself, and maybe even Alby."

I was no biologist, but I knew one thing. Once you get bitten by a venomous snake, you don't suck out the poison, like most people think. You make sure their heart rate is calm, so the venom doesn't spread.

Minho knocked out Alby for his own safety, but also for Alby's. His heart rate is now at a slow paste, the venom will not go through his body as fast as it should be.

We have time, even though we know the ending. But the journey towards the end is always different. Maybe Alby will wake up sane, and tells us goodbye. Maybe he will heal automatically from the stung or maybe he won't.

Minho still looked like a sad little puppy in his chair. I again stood up, grabbing some bandages. I worked my way around his hands.

"Thanks, Shank." Minho spoke in a soft voice. The nickname gave me a feeling of belonging.

"Thomas and I think we found a way out." Minho told me in a soft voice. "I want you to be a runner too, to help everyone in the Glade. To get out of this shunk hole."

I stared in his brown eyes to confirm he wasn't lying. I smiled when I saw it was all sincere.

This whole exchange didn't go unnoticed by a British boy who stood against the wall on the other side of the room with his armed crossed. A small frown forming as he had heard everything.

Only, I didn't see this.
