With the machete tight in my hand, making my knuckles white. I turned around to take one final glance at the boys, at him.

His chocolate brown eyes boring into mine.

A rumbling sound was heard behind me and I knew it was the walls closing in, trapping me on other side.

Everyone was screaming, begging me to come quick into safety. I knew if I came, the griever that stood tall before me would follow and kill us all.

I took a step towards the griever that dangerously wiped its tail from left and right. I couldn't kill it, I knew that. But I could buy them some time.

I went full on sprint towards the creature, eyes still on the second one that was behind it. I saw its tail lifting up and coming straight for me.

I jumped towards the side, slightly missing the tail. I turned up to see that the tail was stuck into the ground. But something else was happening. The second griever behind the other one started to charge at the closing doors where the boys were still screaming for me.

But I couldn't help them because the other griever went towards me at a high speed. Blue light waved around its body, making loud cranking sounds. It only lasted for a few seconds. It was like it got electrocuted.

My eyes never left the griever's eyes that was screeching in pain. I never saw it coming because of it.

I felt something on my ankle and I got flung through the room. An electrical pulse went through my body. A loud ringing sound was in my ears and when I opened my eyes, everything turned blurry.

I saw the outline of the griever slowly walking towards me. I wanted to move, but I couldn't. My muscles contracted by each movement I made, making me scream in pain.

A flash of bright blue light made me close my eyes. A horrifying screeching sound was heard, until it was totally silent.

No scraping of metal, no clicking sound, nothing.

I groaned and forced my body to roll onto my back. I looked up at the sky, seeing the bright stars littering the sky.

Everything around me started to fade away.

Peace was the only thing on my mind.

They found peace, he found peace.

I closed my eyes for just a second. At least I thought it was a second.

I felt something pushing hard against my shoulders, making my eyes open. I looked up to see a blurry figure standing above me.

I opened my mouth, but no words came out.

"Good, you are still alive." Said a muffled voice. I couldn't place it, but it felt familiar.

Wet cold water got splashed against my face. I quickly got up from my lying position, partly confused on how I could use my muscles. Which ached like hell I might add.

I wiped away the cold water from my eyes to see no other than Gally standing in front of me.

"What-"

He came to me with high speed, twisting my body against his and placing his arm around my neck.

"You are going to follow me and keep quiet." He said in a low and dangerous voice.

I couldn't take him, my muscles burned and my skin felt as if it was on fire.

I tried to speak up, but his hold against my throat kept me from doing so.

He turned with me in his arms towards a squashed griever.

With me still in a strong hold, Gally grabbed something off the ground. Another key. The doors automatically opened and we made our way through.

There was a long hallway with different doors. There was a sign with 'exit' written on it and what seemed to be a dead person in a lap coat laying on the ground before it.

Gally pushed me away from him and grabbed what seemed to be a gun. I couldn't hold myself up and fell. Pain still soaring through my body.

He picked me again up with ease and held the gun against my head.

"Don't try anything." He spoke to me.

We made our way through the door to see a lot more dead people. But my eyes eventually made contact with the back of a blond boy.

They made it, we are free.

"Let's get out of here." I heard Thomas say.

"No." Gally spoke up, his voice breaking in the process. "There is no way out of here, we belong to the Maze. We live here and die here."

"Gally." Thomas spoke up, his eyes on mine. "We made it out, look." He pointed towards the door. "There is our freedom."

"You think we are free?" I felt the cold gun gaze the side of my head, making me shiver. "Because there is not."

"We can help you, Gally." Newt spoke up and I felt relieved to hear his accent. "But you have to let her go."

"You like her don't you." Gally said towards Newt. He put the gun more into my head, making my tilt it slightly the other way. "The WCKD Princess, the spoiled little brat who's-"

His sentence was broken by a spear piercing into his shoulder. His grip on me loosen and I pushed him with the little strength I had away from me. He fell on the ground with tears rolling over his cheek. I saw veins on the side of his neck, he has been stung.

I turned my eyes away from him and connected them with those of Newts. I went to take a step towards him, but my knees gave out from under me.

The only thing I felt were strong arms catching me until everything turned black.
