We burst through the Med-jack hut door. Every Keeper was there and Teresa. I stood next to the brown haired girl. I saw Newt from across the room, but quickly averted my eyes towards Alby sitting on the bed.

He looked sick. I walked around him and took a stance behind a squatted Thomas on the ground. Alby's eyes were lifeless staring before of him.

"There is no way out." Alby spoke with a hoarse voice. The leader of over more than 60 people, the strongest amongst all of us. Looked like life was taken away from him in a flash.

"No, Alby." Thomas spoke with a soft voice. "Minho and I found a way out we think."

"We can't leave." Alby spoke again. "They won't let us."

I saw Gally stand up a little straighter once he heard those words. I felt another body next to mine, but ignored it. I looked confused at Alby, his words not making sense.

"I remember everything." His voice broke, and his eyes moved again towards the wall.

"What do you remember?" Thomas asked him.

"Alby turned his head towards Thomas, his eyes glazing with tears.

"You."

I moved my eyes towards Thomas.

"You were always their favourite, everyone knew." Alby spoke again. "Why would you do this to us? Why are you even here?"

I heard muffles voices from outside but ignored it as I saw tears rolling from Alby's eyes, breaking my heart.

Everyone else made their way out of the tent, but I couldn't. I moved to Alby's side, and slowly put a hand on his shoulder. He turned his head towards me, eyes glazing.

"How come that you are here Cassieopeia?" I tilted my head in confusion, no one knew I was really called Cassiopeia.

"How-"

"You were always with him."

"With who, Thomas?" I questioned, I didn't know who he meant, but his focus since I came in here was Thomas.

"No." His voice breaking. "The guy who takes everyone away."

I tilted my head in confusion. The guy who takes everyone?

Alby grabbed something out of his pocket and opened up my hand. "I don't blame you. You cannot remember anything. But promise me that you will pick the right side when it is needed."

I felt a small sheet of paper in my hands. Alby started to cry next to me, his head on his knees.

I opened up the paper, finding scribbles on it.

Cassiopeia,

Keep this note hidden for anyone you see. You can't remember me, but that is okay. They put you in this place for a good cause. I put you there to prepare them for the next stage. Nothing will come to you. Just stay alive and stay out of the maze, until it is time to go.

- Dr. D

"Alby-"

Newt barged into the Med-jack hut.

There was a loud booming sound and I quickly got up. I didn't know what was happening, but Newt sprinted towards Alby putting a shirt on him.

"They are coming."

"Who are coming?" I questioned, but at least helped Newt get Alby on his feet. We moved him out of the Med-jack hut.

Gladers were running around and I heard another booming sound on my left. I looked up and saw the walls opening up.

Fuck.

We ran up towards a group. I heard Thomas giving some order to people while I held Alby in my arms. Frypan quickly walked up towards me, and took my place. Clint doing the same with Newt.

I felt a hand grabbing my wrist and I looked up to see a mop of blond hair. I pulled my hand back from his grip. I turned my body around, looking at my surrounding.

I saw people getting whisked away by grievers, getting killed on the spot.

"Run, run, run!" I heard Thomas yell, and we all made a beeline towards the Homestead.

A griever sprung in front of us, its tail high in the air. It's teeth were a dark red colour, making me sick to my stomach. I quickly grabbed one of my throwing knives, and threw it in its eye.

It screeched, but it didn't stop the griever at charging at us.

Theresa grabbed a bottle with a small fire in it and threw it at the griever, making it go up in flames. With no time to waste we all sprinted towards Homestead.

The group ran in front of me. I heard screams from everywhere around me. I made the mistake of looking behind me. A griever was charging at me, but I lost my footing falling straight to the ground.

I turned onto my back to see the griever running straight at me.

"Cassie!" I heard Newt scream, making me quickly look up to see the group pulling him inside Homestead with a lot of effort. The griever was getting closer and closer.
