"Who doesn't?" Frypan looked down on me in concern.

"Newt." I slowly said, the mere thought of him moving on so fast made my breathing quicken.

I didn't know what came over me as I felt my knees give in. Frypan pulled me into him keeping me up.

He lowered me down on the ground slowly.

"He-e he." I couldn't say anything when I felt the air leaving my lungs.

I couldn't breath. My sight was blurry but I could hear a muffled voice.

"Cassie, Cassie, Cassie." It went on like that.

I felt my heartbeat in my head. I tried to take in some air, but it was like I was drowning all over again.

I saw another blurry figure coming into view.

Everything my body did was heighten. The breaths I tried to take, the beating of my heart. The soft lips on mine.

My eyes flew open when I felt that.

I looked straight into a warm dark brown eyes that I love.

"Newt?" I spoke softly.

His eyes were glassy, but a smile came over his face.

His hand was holding my cheek and his lips found mine again. I didn't kiss him back though, even though I wanted it so bad. His heart belonged to another.

So I did what a decent human being does and pushed him away to the hard sand.

He looked shocked at me, but I didn't care.

"Why did you kiss me?" I almost screamed, wiping away the invisible kiss on my lips.

"What?"

"You can't kiss you have a girlfriend?" I broke down crying once I said the 'girlfriend' part.

"I don't have a girlfriend." He sounded hurt.

His eyes scanned me, but I didn't move under his gaze. I did look down to see some black stains on my hands from the paint.

"Cassie." Thomas spoke up this time as I saw him sprinting towards me.

He pulled me into an awkward hug as I was still sat on the ground.

"I almost didn't recognise you with your black short hair."

I smiled at him, knowing at least someone saw past that.

I moved my eyes to Newt and I literally saw the realisation came over him.

"You were the girl who hugged me." It came out as a statement, so I nodded at him.

"I told you I had a girlfriend." I nodded at that again, trying to leave my face emotionless. "But I don't have one."

Thomas pulled away from me and look at me and Newt. I saw him nodding his head to Frypan, probably telling him to leave us. Which they gladly did.

It was now Newt and I alone on the small beach behind the tents. The waves clashing down behind me. The soft cold wind blowing into my wet hair.

"You don't?" I dared to ask him.

He shook his head very quickly.

"Why did you say it then?" I asked him.

"Because I thought it was some random girl pulling me in a hug and not the girl I fell for."

I tasted a salty flavour of my fallen tear. I got up from my feet and pulled Newt into a hug. His arms went around my waist pulling me closer. I put my head in his warm neck. Drenching his shirt with my hair, but he didn't care.

"I found you." I mumbled into him.

"I am bloody glad you did." He let out a soft chuckle that send shivers to my spine.

I missed him more than anything when I was at WCKD. I was glad when I fell asleep, because I would see Newt in my dreams every night.

"How did you even escape?" He asked me when I pulled away from him.

And I took that as a cue to began the whole story about what happened at WCKD and the first 3 months. That I killed some guards and found my way out.

Eventually Liz, Aris, Thomas, Frypan, Jorge and Brenda came sitting next to us and listening to my story. Brenda's hair was now below her shoulder which suited her pretty good.

I told them about how I saw Teresa totally obsessed with WCKD. The temporary 'cure' they already had. Thomas noticed this and spoke about the time Marie made the same from his blood for Brenda.

I looked at Brenda, scanning her from top to toe.

"Did you have a whole bucket full of it?" I said after I noticed she had no purple veins on her body.

"No?" She responded confused. "I haven't had an injection since then."

My eyes grew wide at this, words tried to fall out, but nothing came.

"What is it?" Thomas asked when my eyes never left him.

"It is you." I told him. "God, how stupid could I be. Janson was always talking about you."

"What do you mean it is me?" Thomas asked again, his patients running out.

"Did you give blood to someone?"

"Well yeah." He responded. "I gave some to Marie and Teresa was interested so I gave her some too so she could study with Marie-"

He was shocked to say the least.

"She brought it back to WCKD."

I nodded at him, "They must have figured out by now that your blood is an improvement then the stuff they have now,"

My eyes scanning his as worry came over him.

"They are after you, Thomas."
