I walked up towards the group with a heavy heart. I had placed the gun inside my leather binding on my upper leg.

The group turned around to see me speed walking up to them, but they turned back forward without saying a word.

I felt disgusted by myself. I shot Winston even though he wanted it so bad.

I fastened my pace and walked next to Newt. His hand touching mine softly. I needed the comfort. The image of Winston did not leave my mind. I went to hold his hand, but Newt literally ripped my hand out of mine.

He walked slower and started walking next to Thomas. My heart fell to the ground.

"Don't worry to much." I turned around to see Minho walking next to me. "The passing is fresh in his mind, it is the same for everyone else."

I nodded my head, but I still needed the comfort.

"Was it bad that I did it?" I questioned Minho.

"I don't think so." His eyes moved towards mine. "I think you were the only one who could do it if I am being honest."

That didn't sound very good.

"N-Not that I think you are heartless." Minho quickly spoke. "I just think you have a history with this, we all sort of knew when you first came up in the box."

I smiled at him. He put a hand around my shoulder and brought me into his side.

"I am happy I made you smile."

My lips curved up and I started laughing with Minho. I am happy I got to know Minho well in the Maze. He was like the brother I never had and we kind of formed a bond like that. He is most of the time the person who comes to my rescue when Newt isn't there, like right now.

Minho and I started to talk while walking. I bumped my shoulder with him after he said that Freddy was a awful name for a bunny.

"Your boyfriend seemed mad." Minho said after we collected our laughter.

I turned around slowly to see Newt sending daggers at Minho.

"He is not my boyfriend." I told him flat out.

"Well some people heard some... questionable things." His eyebrows moved in a seductive way. I instantly groaned. Someone must have heard us in the crank building.

"How do you already know what we did in the building? You were running with Thomas."

"No I mean in the kitchen." His head moved slowly towards me. "You shunked there where all the cranks were hiding."

"What!" I yelled, but quickly moved my hand over my mouth. "We never fucked."

"That is not what Frypan told me." A smirk plastered on his face. "But was it good." He lifted his eyebrows up and down.

I pushed him away from me and walked faster. I heard him laughing and quickly walked up with the same pace I was going.

"But you wouldn't oppose of the idea of being an item?" Minho questioned somehow teasing, but also serious.

I looked back to Newt who was talking with Thomas. A sad smile forming on my lips.

"There is no time for love right now." It is partly true. I don't want to be too close to these boys then I already am. I knew some would die on the journey, a nagging feeling was telling me that.

"Cassie." Minho said serious in a low tone, making sure no one would hear us. "We walk now for hours through a dessert to be free, to start over from our past lives. Love is part of that 'starting over' point."

I turned around to see Newt still engrossed in a conversation with Thomas.

"I don't know, Minho." I told the boy back. "He seems really mad at me somehow."

Minho shrugged his shoulders. "I am also not sure why, but he lost a lot of people and he was very close to Winston."

"I am hurt too."

"I know." Minho patted my head which made me somehow smile.

Once the sun started to set we started to quickly make a fire. Using glass from an old building to start it.

Everyone was quiet, tears still falling from their eyes.

"I think." Newt started. "Not everyone here is immune."

My eyes lifted towards him.

"Not all of us, I guess." Teresa said, her eyes finding mine. "But you are."

I touched my eye where a dried up wound still laid. I knew I was immune. I knew who was and who wasn't.

"That is why we have to make sure that no one gets bitten or scratched." Newt told everyone in the group.

"I know who is immune and who isn't." I told the group after a long time of thinking. My eyes moved over every single person until they landed on the brown eyes I have come used to.

"I am sorry." I told Newt and his eyes quickly moved towards the flames of the fire.

"How do you know." Thomas questioned, but I couldn't answer him. He quickly got up and moved my blond hair away from my neck. "You got your memories back."

I was confused on how he knew, so I asked about him.

"Teresa also got her memories back, she also has a tattoo on the back of her neck."

I moved my hand over the back of my neck, but I didn't feel anything out of the ordinary.

"Even though I am not immune, we still have to be careful." Newt told the group. "The scratches or bites can lead up to an infection."

"I never thought I would say this." I turned my eyes towards Frypan who sat next to me. A tear rolled down his eyes. I grabbed his hand in comfort and gave it a light squeeze. "I miss the Glade."
