I went to take off my pants, but Newt stopped my movement. I turned to look at him.

"I hate to say this, but we can't do that." I looked in his eyes and I knew he wanted it as much as I do.

"Why?" I questioned him confused.

"Well first, we don't have protection." It was true, but I didn't tell him that I got an IUD when I was still part of WCKD. It is not exactly a random conversation you will have with a guy that you hated. So I decided to tell him now.

"I got an IUD when I was still at WCKD." I told him. "It is not because I was sleeping around, I never did. It was because of my period."

I have no idea why I told him that and the look on Newt's face was saying the exact same 'he wasn't expecting that'.

"We also need to talk." I sat up straight and Newt also got up. The tone he used was a serious one.

I leaned back against the back of the couch and crossed my arms. It was really a weird timing for him to do this.

He went to stand up and grabbed his shirt and mine of the ground. He threw it my way and I caught it in the air, quickly pulling it on.

The couch cushion next to me dipped, letting me know that Newt had taken a seat next to me again.

"What you want to talk about?" I tried to sound clueless, but we both knew what was on our minds.

"About the other night." Newt spoke up his eyes casting downwards. "You should know that I didn't mean it, me calling you emotionless."

"Then why did you?" I questioned him.

"It's just-" he moved his hand over his mouth and his eyes found mine again. "I don't like it that you always do those things, putting everyone else before yourself. You saved me from that crank, but you hurt yourself doing that in the process. You got a scar out of it."

"I got a scar!" I almost shouted. I stood up and looked around the room, hoping to find a mirror.

I walked towards it and took a good look at myself. My hair was dirty and ruffled up. My right eye was what caught my attention. There was one long red line going from the top of my eyebrow right through the middle of my eyes, stopping just below my eye.

I didn't know what to think of it. Would people call me out for having a disgusting scar on my face or would people think it is a scar from braveness.

"I like it." Newt told me when I started to softly trace the scar. I turned to look at him with a small smile playing on my lips. I went back and took a seat next to him.

"Moving back to the conversation, why do you hate it so much that I save everyone else?" I asked him.

"But why do you have to do it all the time?" Newt said a little bit frustrated. "Yes, you are good at it, but one day you will not have luck on your side. It will get yourself killed in the process."

"Are you jealous that you couldn't safe them?" I was really confused by him, shouldn't he be grateful that I saved him?

"No." Newt quickly defended himself. He quietly laughed to himself and placed a hand soft against my cheek. His thump traced the bottom of my scar. "I just don't want you to be the next one to die for saving the rest."

I slowly pulled him in a soft kiss. It was different then the other ones we shared, no hunger, no lust was placed in this one. It was just us, alone and together.

I pulled away from him and looked deep into his eyes.

"You really don't find me emotionless?" I questioned him. "You don't blame me for helping Winston out?"

He placed a sweet and delicate kiss on my forehead. I closed my eyes in the process.

"No it was in the heat of the moment." Newt placed a small kiss on the top of my nose. "I was sad by his passing, but more sad that you would take that role on yourself."

"Why?" I laughed slightly. "Because I am just a girl."

I gave Newt a teasing smile, which he groaned at in annoyance, making my smile more.

"It was a poor choice of words." Newt simply told me. "I never taught of you as a weak little girl, I knew you were strong when you took me down easily."

"Oh it is easily now, not luck."

"Bugger off." Newt said and turned his eyes away from me.

I laughed at him and quickly moved my way towards him. I moved my legs over his so I was straddling him now. I held his face in my hands, his cheeks were a slight red color out of embarrassment.

"Come on, tell me." I said to him slightly moving in my place. "Say that I wasn't luck."

His hand gripped my thighs, holding me still in place.

"Killer, don't do that." Newts voice was low. I looked in his eyes and smirked once I saw they were glazed. I rolled my hips against him, instantly feeling something hard.

"Say it." I said again to him.

"Okay, it wasn't luck, you are strong like that."

I smiled at that and stood up from Newts lap. I literally heard him whine.

"Killer." He dragged out.

"Nope I have no idea how long we have been here, but we need to get back to our group." I threw him his jacket and picked up mine.

I saw a hair brush laying near the mirror I stood in front for and I used it to flatten out my hair and taking out the knots.

I notice red and purple spots around my neck, one even on my top breast as I wore a deep v-neck shirt.

I turned to see Newt dressing up and putting on his scarf. I walked up towards him and grabbed it off of him and tied it around myself.

Newt look at me weirdly, but smiled when I pointed at a purple bruise on my neck. He walked up to me and grabbed me by the waist, pulling me into him and kissed me once more.
