Music plays loudly in the casino, slot machines going off left and right. Me, Lucas, and Theo all sit at a poker table, playing while Lindsey is off somewhere else. I assume the bar.

We've been here for about an hour, playing the different games around the room. I've won one game so far, but that doesn't mean that won't change through the night. I turn my head to my left as Lindsey slides up between me and Theo.

"So, I've learned not to try and talk to anyone here. They're all stuck-up." She admits.

I quirk a brow at her. "Are you drunk?"

"No. I'm tipsy. See, that's the difference. It's just a little buzz." She shrugs simply. "But if I start to get drunk, stop me." She points a stern finger in my face.

"Got it." I nod, a small smirk on my face.

"I'm hungry. Who else is hungry?" She suddenly blurts, looking around the table.

"I'm hungry." A man from across me speaks with a smirk. "For you."

I glare at him. "Back off."

He holds his hands up. "Not tryna steal your girl, man. But it ain't my fault if she chooses me over you." He smirks, a taunting glint in his eye as he takes a drink of his glass.

"Yeah, well, Alex is more than you can ever be, so I wouldn't be saying much." Lindsey quips back. "You really should learn to get a better personality. Maybe then you'll actually get a long-term girl instead of measly hookups."

His smile fades as others, including me, Theo, and Lucas, crack up around the table.

"I'll be searching for food." Lindsey announces, spinning on her heel.

"Hey, wait, I'll join." Lucas pushes his chair back and stands, following her as she grins.

She links her arm with his. "You know, you were my favorite."

"I heard that." Theo calls, glancing at her.

"You were meant to." She calls back, waving a hand.

I snort, turning to Theo who scowls. "Can you believe that women?" I can't tell if it's a genuine question or rhetorical. "Ever since you managed to get her roped in, she's always had a vendetta against me."

"Vendetta is a little extreme, don't you think?"

"No. I don't. She's always had something against me." He points a finger at me. "If you didn't like her so much, I would've kicked her to the curb a long time ago."

"Awe, are you butt-hurt because she's the first girl to not swoon when she's in your presence?" I fake-pout, and he glares.

I feel someone come up beside me, finding a brunette with far too much makeup on her face standing beside me. "Hey, handsome. What's a guy like you doing here?"
