I flop onto the hotel bed with a loud groan. "Yes. Thank God." I'm so tired, I could take a fat nap at this very moment. I don't even care that Alex is watching me.

"Go ahead and take a nap. I have to get ready to go for a concert." I hear him rummage through a bag.

I push myself up, watching as he shrugs off his suit jacket. "Where at?"

"Next state over. I'll be back in two days." I nod as he unbuttons his shirt. I lay down, letting him strip. Guess he doesn't care to change in front of me either. I chance a glimpse at him, halting on the sight of a tattoo on his right shoulder blade.

A pink rose. Wonder what the meaning behind it is.

I sigh, yawning as I grow even more tired. If only my dad hadn't woken me up so early this morning. I'd be at work, getting caught up on everything Naomi hasn't.

"Hey," I call, and he turns to me, an eyebrow raised to let me know he's listening. "How come you came to my dad?"

He shrugs. "He's a lawyer. I needed a lawyer."

"Well, why do you need a lawyer?" In an instant, I can almost see him shutting me out. Not that he was really letting me in in the first place.

"Something stupid I did." He walks toward the bathroom.

"Wh— Well, it had to have been stupid enough to need a lawyer and need me for a publicity stunt. So what was it?" He shakes his head. "Alex."

"It was nothing." He doesn't look up at me.

"It's not nothing if you need a lawyer." I state. What could he have possibly done that would result to him needing a lawyer? "Did you kill someone?"

"No!" He sighs exasperated. "Just drop it, okay? You don't need to know." Then he's slamming the bathroom door shut.

"Hey, Mase." I call over my shoulder, flipping through paperwork as I walk into work.

"Hey, Lindsey. Break any hearts today?" I can hear his smile.

"Nope. But the day's only just begun." I call in a sing-song voice, raising my hand and waving at him as I walk in the direction of my desk. I hear his boisterous laugh follow after me, bringing a smile to my face.

I sit down, loading up my PC as I organize my desk. As my monitor is loading, Mandy stops beside my desk. "This showed up for you."

I take the envelope from her. "Did it have a name?"

"Nope." Then she's walking away.

I sigh. I look over my cubicle to Naomi's desk, but she's not there. Weird. She's usually here this early in the morning. Most of the time, she's here either before Rhys or with Rhys. My monitor finishes and I open all the tabs I'll need for the day as I hear Rhys walking in.
