𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐒𝐄𝐘
For the past five years, I've managed to avoid him. I've managed to forget about him and move on from him. Mostly. Alex Lancaster and I have history, but nothing will ever change between us.
At least until he shows up at my dad's work...

Jumping out of my car, I wrap my coat around me as I hurry up the stairs to Naomi's house. I take notice of the boxes on the porch and bang on the door.
I know she's here, because there's not much to do in December when snow is covering every inch of the ground, and I know Rhys is here because his car is parked in the driveway.
"Hi." I say as the door opens, before pushing my way inside. "We've got an emergency. S.O.S."
"And what exactly is this problem?" Naomi looks at me confused, shutting her door, as Rhys walks into the room.
"Why aren't you at work?" He asks.
"I'm on break." I wave a hand, then turn back to Naomi, beginning to ramble, "Alex wants to take me with him to one of his concerts and I don't have anything to wear, so I'm freaking out." Even though I haven't told him yes yet. I will, just not until I have an outfit. "Oh, and I saw the boxes outside. What's with that? No, wait. Let me guess. Rhys moved in with you."
Naomi stares. "Uhh..."
Before she can answer, I'm rambling again. "Knew it. I'm amazing." I give a nervous laugh. "So, anyway, here I am, freaking out over a guy I hate who's taking me to one of his concerts that I've refused to go to for years and you're moving in with the man I can no doubt see you marrying in the future, and I keep talking, and someone make me stop talking!"
I hate when I'm nervous, because all I do is ramble until my lips fall off. Or they would, if no one stopped me.
"Okay!" Naomi sets her hands on my shoulders, effectively shutting me up. "We are going to go continue this little panic party in my bedroom." I nod, heading up the stairs as I hear her ask Rhys, "Would you make some tea, please?"
I find Naomi's room and take a seat on her bed, shrugging off my coat and laying it in my lap. Snow has begun to fall again and I sigh.
I hate that he's making me feel like this. I especially hate the fact that I kissed him again, despite how much I enjoyed it.
Naomi walks into the room. "So what was that about?"
"Alex asked me to a concert. I haven't said yes yet because I don't have anything to wear." She nods slowly.
"And...are you planning on going to this concert?" She raises a brow as she walks to the bed and takes a seat beside me.
"I mean..." I shrug, unsure. "I want to go. But I've never gone to a concert. I was afraid I'd see Alex opening for someone or-or accidentally going to one of his, so I chose not to go to one at all."
"Well, I think you should go." She grabs her pillow and cuddles it in her lap. "It'd be nice for you to go to one of his, plus it's great for the public."
"I don't want to go as a publicity stunt. I want to go just as me. Just me and Alex." I state, leaning back on one hand.
She quirks a brow. "That sounds an awful lot like you're together. For real."
