baby and you might still have me.
Tyler was ready to leave. He had grown bored with the atmosphere of being in a high school setting again. It had been eight years since he had been there, and he didn't miss it one bit. He didn't want to ruin her night, so he stood there being the good boyfriend that he was. He took pictures with her and about 50 other groups of people without complaining. They were finally sitting down at a table with Abby and her date for the first time all the night.
"Oh my God, Miss Simmons is so not a senior teacher. I knew she was dating Mr. Collins," Jacey said to Abby. Tyler shook his head at the girls and their petty high school gossip.
"I knoooow!" Abby replied looking over to the teachers who were in the corner chit-chatting about whatever teachers chatted about when they had to chaperon at school dances and other functions.
"Barlow! It's good to see one of my old students attending school functions as chaperons." Tyler looked back at the man who had recently placed his heavy hands on his shoulders. The principal of Hinesville High was once his English teacher junior year. It was nice to know he had moved up in the educational food chain.
Tyler chuckled and shook his head. He didn't think about this happening before he agreed to attend Jacey's prom. "No, sir. I'm here with my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend, aye?" Principal Johnathon Miller asked as he looked around the place, trying to figure out who Tyler could be dating. "Is it Ms. Evans?" He asked, referring to this year's new Math teacher for seniors. "She's a pretty hot lady. Got a good one."
Tyler chuckled again. "No. My girlfriend is a senior. You might know her. Jacey. Jacey King." The older man's smile faded. He wasn't a massive fan of the senior that was mentioned. Sure, she was a good student when it came to her work, but attitude-wise, she wasn't his favorite.
"Is that legal?" Jacey rolled her eyes and waved her hand in the principal's direction.
"You know, I'm sitting right here." She said with a bit of an attitude. Truth be told, she wasn't a massive fan of the principal herself. She tried her best to stay out of his way and out of his office.
"Jacey. One of my favorite students!" There was sarcasm in his voice. She faked a smile, tilting her head slightly. "How did you get mixed up with this one?" He asked Tyler. "Aren't you a lawyer?"
"Not quite yet. I'm working on getting there," Tyler replied before he glanced over at Jacey. "What's wrong?" he mouthed to her. She shook her head, indicating nothing was wrong. He raised an eyebrow at her, and she made a silly face at him, causing him to chuckle.
"Well, It was good to see one of my prized students, even though you're dating one of my many problems." He let out a hearty laugh before he looked over at Jacey. "Happy Birthday Jacey." He told her, remembering he had to announce her birthday a day early over the P.A. System due to seniors being out of school. He looked over at Abby and Danny, and a big smile appeared on his face. "My smart bunch. Enjoy the rest of your night," with that said he walked away from their table.
Jacey rolled her eyes and pushed her chair closer to Tyler, putting her head on his shoulder. Tyler kissed her head before picking up his drink and taking a sip. "Well, well, well," A female voice chimed from behind Tyler and Jacey. Jacey looked at Abby's face, which wasn't really pleasant. Jacey knew the voice very well. The whole school probably knew the voice. Not because it was a teacher, but because it was one of the most popular girls in the school. Cheerleading was her sport of choice, and destroying lives was one of her favorite pastimes. "Hello, Jacey." Jacey Marie King was one of her favorite victims.
