"I had an uneventful day at work, but what else is new?" She told Tyler with a laugh as she scrolled down her Facebook News Feed. She put her phone on speaker and sat it next to her on her bed. Over the past few weeks, things between her and Tyler's relationship were back and forth. Some days they talked for hours, other days they had major attitudes toward each other. Today was one of those days when they were on good terms. "How was your day?"

"It was okay. I'm just still trying to get used to this new schedule," he replied, referring to having to get up an extra hour or so early to get Jimmy ready for school, get him to either school or Jacey's house, get to work on time, and pick up Jimmy in the evenings. It was different, but he was slowly getting used to it.

"You'll get the hang of it. It ..." She was interrupted by the front door of her home slamming shut. "Oh, joy. Steven must be here."

"Steven? What's wrong with him being there?" He asked, noting the sarcasm in her voice.

"Theresa!" Jacey heard Steven call for her mother, who wasn't home at the moment.

"He's been acting weird lately. Getting drunk and all that wonderful stuff." Jacey explained. "I don't know what..."

Jacey looked up from her computer as her bedroom door swung open. "Where's your mother?"

"She's not here," Jacey replied to Steven with an eyebrow raised. "Could you knock next time, I could have been naked or something." She said, a bit disturbed that he had just barged into her room unannounced.

"You got something to hide, Jace Face," Steven said with a slight smirk on his face. He walked out of her room, leaving the door wide open.

"He is so drunk right now," Jacey mumbled aloud, somewhat forgetting Tyler was on the phone.

"He just came into your room without knocking?" Tyler asked once he noticed Steven's voice had faded.

"Yeah, but my mom still refuses to put a lock on my door," Jacey said with a sigh as she closed her laptop. "I think I killed that when..." She paused once she heard the door to Kaylee's bedroom open. "Hey, hold on a second." She told Tyler as she quickly got out of her bed and headed out of her room and to Kaylee's. Sure enough, Steven was in Kaylee's room, sitting at her tea party table. "What are you doing in here?"

"I'm going to have a tea party with Kaylee," Steven said nonchalantly, with the same sinister smirk on his face that he held while in her own room.

"Kaylee's asleep. She has school in the morning. You need to get out of here and let her sleep." Steven got up from the tea set and walked close to Jacey.

"What are you going to do about it, little girl?" Jacey blinked twice, running through a list of things she could say to him in her head. After a couple of seconds, still having nothing to say, Steven chuckled a little, most likely seeing the fear he had caused in her eyes and walked away.

She exhaled and walked into Kaylee's room fully. She walked over to Kaylee's bed and picked her up, grabbed one of her Hello Kitty blankets as she did so, and carried her back to her room, thanking God that Kaylee was a heavy sleeper. She picked up her phone and took it off of the speaker. "I guess I'm staying up all night or at least until my mom gets home." She told Tyler as she threw her stuffed Hello Kitty doll to the floor and plopped into her computer chair.
