you opened my eyes and you made me believe.
"I love you," Jacey whispered as Tyler hugged her. "Buy me something to match what you're wearing just in case I don't have anything." Tonight, they would be heading to Tyler's office Christmas party. She was nervous about meeting Tyler's coworkers, especially Mr. Lawrence. She was afraid she would say something that would make herself and Tyler look stupid.
"You know I will." He peaked her lips.
"And don't forget to get something to bring to the party this time," she teased, remembering their first encounter. He laughed a little as he slipped his shoes on.
"You think you're funny."
"I know I'm funny." He let out a chuckle and walked back over to the bed and leaned down over her. He kissed her quickly. "But, no. I'm going to make something to bring."
"I don't know if I want to share your cooking with anyone. They might try to steal you from me."
"But it might impress Mr. Lawrence, and if he loves it, you can say you made it." She smiled, trying to make the idea seem convincing. "If you please his stomach, it might please your pockets in the long run."
"Please my pocket? That sounds like code for: You'll be able to shower Jacey with gifts."
"I mean, that is a plus to this whole situation." He was still hovering over her, their faces close. "Please, baby," she whispered with a pout.
He pecked her lips, causing her to smile, "What do you need me to get from the store?"
"You pick what you want me to make and just get enough for about 50." She told him after she did some quick calculations in her head.
"Why are you so complicated?" He asked with a slight shake of his head.
"Because you love me this way." She replied with a grin.
"You're a brat," he told her, laughing a little. "What you're saying is, whatever I bring back here, you'll cook?"
"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying." She confirmed.
"So you're accepting the challenge of me possibly bringing home a mixture of things and attempting to make it into a dish."
"Challenge accepted."
"We'll see how this turns out." He kissed her one last time before he stood upright. "I'm going to get going. This might be an adventure when it comes to finding something for you to wear."
She laughed at his comment and rolled onto her side to face him. She propped her head up with her hand. "Bye. Have fun."
"I'll try." She watched him grab his wallet and keys before he left the room. She lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling, wondering how it was possible that she had found Tyler and got to keep him for herself. She snapped out of her thoughts and turned her head towards the door when she heard someone clear their throat.
"Someone's happy," Abby said as she leaned against the door frame of Tyler and Jacey's room.
"I'm always happy," Jacey said as Abby walked into the room and laid down on Tyler's side of the bed, on top of the covers.
