you lift my feet off the ground, spin me around.

Tyler pulled up to The Convention Center at around 6:30 pm. Jacey's graduation was supposed to be starting at 7. He found a parking spot and turned his car off. He sat in his car for a while, trying to work up the nerve even to get out. He had to admit he was nervous. Nervous about having to be with Jacey's family without her being close. Sure, her mother liked him. And sure, Kaylee loved him. He wasn't sure about her extended family. He looked down at his cell phone once he noticed it light up.

"Hey, my mom is looking for you, so you all can all sit together. Where are you?"

Tyler sighed and looked at her text. He was almost ready to just tell her that he would just sit wherever but he didn't want to disappoint her. He ran his hand over his face before he texted her back.

"I just got here. Getting out the car now."

He got out of his car, locked it, and began to make his way to the line of people, looking for Jacey's family as he approached. "TYLER!!!!" he heard Kaylee's little voice scream. He spotted her running towards him full speed, and he couldn't help but smile. He scoped her out and planted a kiss on her cheek once she reached him.

"Hey!" He exclaimed as he walked over to Jacey's family.

"We've been waiting on you," Theresa said the second Tyler was close enough to her. Theresa walked up to him, hugging him tightly.

"Sorry, I'm late. I got off from work later than I expected to." He told them only half truthfully. He felt more comfortable than he did before. He liked Jacey's mom. She was completely cool in his book. She had a laid-back feel to her. She wasn't all in their business. Yes, she cared about the well-being of her daughter, and she made that clear to him when they first met, but she never said much after that.

"What do you do, young man?" An older gentleman asked him. He figured he was Jacey's grandfather. He seemed okay, but he knew first impressions could be a failure.

"I work at a law firm as an intern,," he stated simply. There was no need for him to go into major detail. "I'm Tyler, by the way," he put out his hand for the man to shake.

"Lee," he took Tyler's hand and shook it. "Jacey calls me Poppy; you can pick whichever one you would like." Tyler smiled. So maybe he was nice; it was settling. It was better than the reaction he got from Jacey's father when they first met.

"Hi. I'm Tyler," Tyler said innocently to Jacey's father, holding out his hand for her father to shake it. He had been sitting on the couch waiting for Jacey and Abby to come down. It was the night of her prom, and it was the first time he had met or even seen her dad in person. It was weird that they had been dating for a year and some months before he had even met him, but it was just how things had fallen. Either her dad would leave before Tyler got there and vice-versa.

Christopher King gave Tyler a side glance before he brought his hand to his mouth and coughed in it before he looked at Tyler and said, "Sorry, son. Germs. Don't want to spread them."

"So, you're the young man that has my Jacey Marie so smitten," Jacey's grandmother, Taye-Alexandria, asked Tyler once they were seated. It was about 6:55 at this time, and the graduates were marching out soon.

"I would suppose so," He said with a laugh.

"I wanna sit by Tyler," Kaylee said, bouncing on her mother's lap.
