these things will change.

"Kiss me underneath the mistletoe; show me, baby, that you love me so." Jacey ran into the kitchen, picked her phone up quickly, and answered it. She had been in the kitchen with her mother, grandmother, Abby, and Kaylee all morning, getting Christmas Eve dinner ready. It was a tradition for them to lounge around in their pajamas all day and have Christmas Eve dinner together.

"Hey," she said as she answered and put her phone on speaker. She returned to her station at the stove, tending to a pot she had been stirring for a while that was filled with pie filling.

"I'm outside. Can you open the door for me?" Tyler asked.

"Ok," she stated simply before hanging up the phone. "Kaylee, please open the door for Tyler and Jimmy." Kaylee hopped down from the step ladder she was standing on at the counter before she ran out of the kitchen to open the door. Jacey stirred the pot of filling as she watched the now pudding-like substance bubble a little. "It's done when it bubbles, right?" Jacey asked, ready to turn the stove off. Taye-Alexandria gave her a nod. She turned the stove off and gave the pot another few stirs before she turned her head, noticing Kaylee coming back into the kitchen with Tyler right behind her, stopping at the door fame.

"I love that my girlfriend hung up on me," Tyler mentioned with a number of bags in his hand.

"I thought you were done talking," Jacey defended as she walked over to him.

"MISTLETOE!" Abby screeched from her seat at the table, where she was painting her nails. Jacey looked at Tyler and smiled.

"Your grandparents are here," Tyler told her.

"Oh, I'm chopped liver," Theresa stated while walking over to the refrigerator.

"They don't mind," Jacey whispered, pulling him closer.

"You're going to have to kiss her in front of them for the wedding, so think of this as practice," Abby coached from the table.

"It's okay, Tyler, sweetheart," Taye-Alexandria approved.

"So you need my grandmother's permission now?" Jacey asked.

"I choose not to answer that," Tyler said simply.

"Good, it's a trap. It sounds like a trap, smells like a trap, tastes like a trap," Lee stated from his seat, causing them to laugh. Tyler pulled Jacey into him and kissed her softly beneath the mistletoe. Once they parted, Tyler went about passing out the things he was instructed to get from the store, and Jacey headed back over to the stove to remove the cookies she and Kaylee shaped earlier and put into the oven.

"Abby, aren't you supposed to be helping?" Tyler asked as he handed Taye-Alexandria what she asked for from the store.

"I am helping. I'm the taste tester." Abby defended as she closed the nail polish bottle. "Did you get the alcohol?"

"Yes, I did," Tyler told her as she pulled the bottles out of the bag and handed them to her.

"Lifesaver!" She deemed him before taking the bottles and heading over to the fridge to place a couple into the freezer.

"Dinner's in a few minutes, so you kids get from my kitchen and let me finish up the last of this," Taye-Alexandria instructed everyone as she began to shoo them out of the kitchen. Following her instructions, Jacey, Abby, Tyler, Kaylee, and Theresa all left out of the kitchen and headed into the living room.
