this love is difficult, but it's real.
[ FEBRUARY 2013 ]
Jacey's eyes opened, only to remind her that he wasn't there. She hated waking up to an empty bed. She rolled her eyes and rolled over, reaching for her phone. She unlocked her phone to see a video message. She smiled as she hit play. "Good morning, beautiful," Tyler's voice chimed through the speaker of her phone. He looked as if he was still in bed, and his morning face and voice suddenly sent a chill down her spine. "I can't wait to see you tonight. I love you."
The video ended, and Jacey instantly opened the camera on her phone and switched it to the video recorder. "Good morning back to you," she said with a giggle. "It's been a long week without you. I can't wait to be back in your arms. I love you more." She ended the video and sent it to him. She got out of bed with a smile on her face and walked from the room and into Jimmy's. She got into the bed between Kaylee and Jimmy and lightly shook Jimmy. His eyes opened slowly, causing her to smile. "Good morning."
"Morning," he said, sounding groggy while stretching.
"Get up. Go shower." He nodded and laid there for another second before he got up and headed out of the room. Jacey rolled over in the bed, facing Kaylee. It was always a hassle waking her up. No matter how much time Kaylee slept, she never wanted to wake up in the morning. "Kaylee," Jacey whispered as she shook Kaylee lightly. Kaylee let out a slight whine as she rolled over. "Come on, get up," Jacey said a little bit louder than before.
"I don't want to go to school," Kaylee replied as she pulled the covers over her head.
"Too bad," Jacey told her as she pulled the covers off of her. "Get up." Kaylee let out a groan before sitting up in the bed. "Good job."
"I have to pee," Kaylee said as Jacey slid from the bed. "And Jimmy's in the bathroom."
"You can get ready in my bathroom then," Jacey told her as they made their way out of Jimmy's room. Jacey led Kaylee into the bedroom, where she had spent the last week alone. Kaylee headed straight to the bathroom, and Jacey walked over to the nightstand and picked up her phone. She sat on the bed and read Tyler's text. She smiled and then replied, she sat the phone down as Kaylee walked out of the bathroom, "Ready?"
"No," Kaylee pouted.
"Too bad. You're going to school," Jacey told her, getting her clothes out.
"Why can't we just stay home with you?" Kaylee asked, following Jacey. "We can lay in bed and watch movies you like all day until Tyler gets home."
"Start getting ready while I make breakfast," Jacey told her before leaving the room. Jacey made her way downstairs and into the kitchen. She opened the refrigerator and freezer at once and browsed through. She took out some grapes and strawberries sat them on the counter. She pulled a strainer out of a bottom cabinet and then sat it in the sink. She pulled some grapes off the vine placing them in the strainer. After collecting a good bit of grapes, she closed the grape container and opened the container of strawberries. She placed a few strawberries in the strainer, before turning the water. She thoroughly washed the fruit before drying them a bit. She then got a knife and proceeded to slice the tops off of the strawberries. She heard the sound of someone coming down the stairs and guessed it was Jimmy with his morning request.
