Anamika's pov :

We looked at Aditi shocked at her revelation. " Tell us the exact stuff Aditi," Sara said. Aditi nodded and told us all the details " My parents are not bad they just have a very orthodox mindset. They want me to be the perfect golden child. They love me a lot but their love is overshadowed by their desire to make me perfect. Ever since I was a child, I was not allowed to have many friends or go out to enjoy much. All my toys were also mostly related to studies. They don't like you all also. They feel that you are a bad influence on me. They feel that I will ruin my life if I don't study the whole day. They don't understand that there should be some balance too. If I score less than 95 on any exam, they get verbally abusive and say mean things. Recently the pressure has increased due to finals. And me going out is annoying them. That's why I cancelled the plans and stayed till late to study. " " Aditi you can't let them do this. You have to stand up for yourself." exclaimed Ishita. " I can't! They are my parents" Aditi exclaimed.
" We know it's scary and your parents don't mean any harm. They just have a wrong way to show their care. But you have to make them understand that what they are doing is wrong." I explained. Everyone encouraged Aditi.
" You guys are right, it's time I stand up to them" Aditi exclaimed. We cheered at her courage. We decided to go over to her place and confront her parents.
" Aditi, what the hell are you doing here instead of being in college?" Aditi's mom exclaimed furiously when she saw us. Her dad looked at us and said " So now you have started bunking classes also with these troublemaker friends of yours." Ishita was going to say something but I stopped her. It was Aditi's right to stand up. Aditi looked at me and I gave her a reassuring nod. She furled her fist and said
" Enough Ma - Pa! They are not troublemakers, they are my friends. They are the ones who care about my well-being. They care about my health and not only my score. Unlike you both who don't care about anything except getting the perfect daughter." " What are you saying? Where are your manners?" her mom shouted. " Exactly where your love and care for me is, In hell" Aditi replied. " Don't talk to your mother like that!" her dad shouted. " Or what? What will you do huh? Is there anything that you haven't already done?" Aditi shouted back. " We just want the best for you" her mom exclaimed. " No, you want what's best for your image. You don't care about what's best for me. Did you ever ask if I was doing okay? Or if I had any difficulty in any subject? No! You just expected me to be the best." Aditi exclaimed. " We were just trying to make you good. We didn't realise it was hurting you so much" her dad said seeming completely heartbroken at his daughter's broken state. " We are so sorry baby, we didn't realise how much we were hurting you over the years. Please forgive us" her mom cried.
" It's okay guys, I know you didn't mean it. But I will need some time to heal from what you have caused. You can't expect me to be completely okay with you" she said. Her parents nodded and hugged her. " We promise that we will be better parents from now on," her dad said. We all smiled at the family's sweet moment.
Aditi came over to us and said " Ma- Pa, these are the ones who gave me the strength to express my feelings today".
" Thank you so much for being such good friends," her dad said. " And we are sorry for the way we treated you all," her dad said remorsefully. " It's okay uncle, it's water under the bridge" Sara said and we agreed. " We are proud of you Aditi," we said. We hugged each other.
" Come on kids, you all sit and talk. I will make you some pasta" Aditi's mom said. We looked at each other with delight.

"Parents are not always right and it's okay to confront them"
