Chapter Twenty

Anamika's pov :

I woke up with nerves filling my body and with a brink of sleep. I couldn't sleep worrying about the result. I got up from the bed and went to freshen up. As I sat on the table for breakfast everyone looked at me and my eye bags.

" Annie you okay?" asked Maa. " Did you get enough sleep last night?" asked Papa.

" Yeah don't worry, I was just up late studying for the finals," I said. They smiled at me and said, " Don't work so hard, take some time to relax too ". I nodded at them and ate my breakfast. Bhai looked at me like he knew I was lying. As I was leaving for college Bhai stopped me and asked " Annie did you have an attack last night?". " What? No" I replied. " Are you sure it's only because of finals?" He asked again. " Yeah Bhai don't worry" I lied. He nodded and said

" Take care of yourself and come to me if you ever need me". I smiled at him and gave him a hug. I met my friends in the car and let out a sigh. " You okay?" asked Aditi. " Yeah.. just tired. I didn't get a wink of sleep last night due to nervousness " I replied. " It's okay don't stress so much" comforted Ishita.

" Take a small nap till we reach college," said Sara. I nodded and slept on her shoulder. As Rohan parked the car, he woke me up and said " Come on Annie, let's go check your result". I nodded and went to check my results with my friends.

" Guys, you check. I don't have the courage to do it" I said. Rohan rolled his eyes and checked the result. " Oh My God Annie you won!!" He exclaimed. My friends cheered. " What?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing I won. I really won the design competition. My friends hugged me and congratulated me. " See we knew you could do it" they said. " Thank you guys, I couldn't have done this without your force," I said. " Oh leave the senti talks, it's time to celebrate!" Sara cheered. I laughed and said, " First let's collect my certificate and then let's go to the ice cream shop, treats' on me." We cheered and went to the shop after collecting my certificate. As we entered the shop, Karan uncle came to greet us. " Hey, kids! What are you doing here?" he asked.

" We are celebrating uncle" answered Rohan. " Oh! What are you celebrating?" Uncle asked. " Annie won the design competition in our college" exclaimed Sara. " What? That's amazing " he exclaimed. Uncle hugged me and said

" Am so proud of you beta ". I hugged him back and thanked him. " All those years of sitting here with your sketchbook paid off huh," Uncle said. I laughed and nodded at him. " Btw Annie, have you told your parents yet? They would be really proud of your achievement " Uncle asked. I shook my head and said, " I umm haven't told them my plans yet". " Still? Annie you have to gather the courage and tell them" he advised. I nodded at him and said " I will uncle. But for now can we have our regular order." He nodded and said

" Of course but it's on the house".

" What! No uncle it's my treat " I said. He shook his head and said, " Annie you are like my daughter. I am not going to take money from you on your such a big achievement ". I smiled and thanked him. We sat down as Uncle brought over our order. Me and my friends ate our ice cream while joking around. Suddenly Ishita got a phone call. She excused herself to receive the call. " WHAT!!" We heard Ishita shout. We ran to her as she cut the call.
