Chapter Seventeen

Anamika's pov :

I woke up with a jerk to someone shaking my shoulders vehemently. I opened my eyes groggily to see a panicked Rohan trying to wake me up.
"Annie wake up please" he pleaded. I woke up annoyed and asked, " What is so urgent?"  "I am going to jail," he said.
" WHAT??" I screamed all sleep gone. I stood up and sat him down on the bed. I asked calmly for an explanation while giving him a glass of water. " What do you mean by you are going to jail?" I asked. " Well umm you know, how you saw me speaking to a girl at the party right" He began. I nodded at him to continue. " So she has been asking me out since the beginning of this year and I have always rejected her advances. But things got out of hand at the party. She tried to kiss me. " confessed Rohan. I was speechless at this. " I ducked and shouted at her but she said ..." " She said what Ro?" I asked. " She said... that she will .... register a harassment complaint.... against me" Rohan nervously revealed. " What? But that's not true. She harassed you, not the other way around" I said. " Yeah but you know how our society is na, in such situations the guy is always wrong " He said dejectedly. I didn't know how to comfort him. We are always taught about comforting girls in such matters but never guys. I never imagined a guy facing this especially not my best friend. I saw him silently crying while looking out the window. He had already given up. I decided to call the girls for help. " What the hell are you saying?" Ishita shouted as soon as I told the girls the matter. " I can't believe someone would frame our Rohan with a harassment complaint, he is such a sweetheart " Sara said with hurt.
" Such girls are the reason guys find it so difficult to trust. They are ruining our name" said Aditi angrily. I nodded at her and said, " She was dressed as what she is ' A devil ' ". " Why don't we go talk to her?" Sara suggested. " I don't think that will work. She doesn't seem like the type to listen, we need some solid evidence to prove Ro innocent which even she can't deny" I said.
" Yeah, and she will get nervous after seeing the evidence and fess up the truth. " Aditi agreed. " But where do we find the evidence?" asked Ishita. Sara looked at Rohan and asked, " Rohan, was there anyone around you when this happened? Any eye witness ?". Rohan shook his head and said, " It was very dim and everyone was immersed in the party". I thought hard to remember any helpful details. Suddenly I remembered something and said, " There is evidence ".
" What??" everyone shouted. " Maya was making videos the whole night and I saw her shooting videos near you when I saw you guys talking" I replied.
" The incident must have been caught on camera" Aditi exclaimed with hope.
I took out my phone to scroll through the thousands of videos sent by all my friends. Finally, I found one video where in the background it could be seen that the girl was trying to force herself on Rohan. " Yesss!! I found the evidence " I exclaimed. We cheered and hugged Rohan. " Now just wait and watch Ro, we will teach this girl not to mess with guys, especially you," said Ishita. " Thank you so many girls," said Rohan. I and the girls decided to confront that girl whose name we got to know was Aastha in the evening.
