Anamika's pov :
Today I would get to know if I got admission in the fashion school or not. I sat with my family waiting for the mail, with my fingers crossed. My laptop beeped indicating that the mail which will decide my future is here. I looked at my parents and said " The mail is here ".
" What does it say ? " asked Maa.
" Did you get accepted? " asked Papa.
" I don't know, I am too nervous to check it," I said. " Bhai can you please check it for me?" I asked Bhai. He nodded and I gave him the laptop. He checked the mail and said, " Oh My God! ". " What is it? Am I rejected ? " I asked. " Annie, you are accepted. You got admission in your dream college." He shouted in excitement. " WHAT!!" I shouted, shocked by the news. I jumped up and down happily as my family came to hug me.
" Congratulations Beta," my parents said.
" You did it Annie " said Bhai. I thanked them and went to call my friends. I started a group call and told them the news. " Guys I got accepted into fashion school," I said. " Woahh! Congratulations Annie " they cheered. " Thank you guys " I thanked them. " What about you guys?" I asked. " I got accepted into drama school," said Ishita. " I got accepted in the textiles course," said Sara. " And I got accepted in the psychology course in the same college," said Aditi. " And I got into the music school," said Rohan.
" Woww!! Congratulations guys! " I exclaimed. " We did it guys " shouted Ishita. "Yes we aced our junior college " exclaimed Sara. " And we will ace our senior college," said Aditi. " We will thrive in our careers and show the world who we are," said Rohan.
" And we will handle whatever adult life throws at us, " I said. We agreed with each other. " Guys let's go somewhere," said Sara. " Yeah, we will be busy with college preparations from tomorrow and will leave," said Aditi. " Let's do something memorable today," said Ishita. " Let's go to all our favourite places" suggested Rohan. We agreed and decided to meet in half an hour. I quickly got ready and waited for my friends. Rohan arrived to pick me up with all our friends and we went to have the best time of our lives. We first went to the cafe and spent some time reading, then we went to the arcade and played some games. We had our lunch in our fav restro and went to the ice cream parlour for dessert. In the evening we went to the beach and enjoyed playing with the sand and water like little kids. After the beach, we had dinner at our second favourite restro. After dinner, we went to Marine Drive for a long drive. We spent the whole day enjoying and making lifetime memories. Before leaving for home, everyone got a little teary eyed knowing that this was the last time we would spend the entire day together. We hugged each other and promised to keep in touch with each other. We made a pact to meet on the same day after 10 years and do everything we did today. We went home late at night after reminiscing all our times and promising each other to fulfil the pact no matter where we are.
It was finally the day to leave for college. My family stood teary-eyed as I left for college. I hugged my family as they wished me luck and told me to keep calling and to take care of myself. I can't believe that from today onwards I will be in a completely different place. For the first time, I felt that I was not a kid anymore. I am an adult and now I have to fend for myself. My family will no longer be there whenever I need them. I will be all on my own. This thought scared me more than it excited me. But I was ready to face my new life as an adult in a new place all alone.
