Lilith's pov
My whole life I was hidden from the world. My mom is a vampire and my father is a demon. My temper has always gotten the best of me ever since I was little. My mom didn't let me leave the castle grounds. She couldn't trust me not to attack humans. My mom is the queen of all vampires on this continent. The castle grounds are huge. Over time I have seen everything there is to see here. When I was 7 I found a blind spot between the vampire guard watch towers. Now I can sneak away without being seen.
My mother has no idea that I sneak out every once and awhile. There is nothing near us but the woods. For miles and miles. There is a neighboring pack that is the only thing close to us. No humans, just werewolves. I don't know why she is scared to let me out. The only creatures near us are wolves. I'm friends with their Alpha. Ryland and I met when we were 8. I was running through the woods trying to find something when I ran into him. We've been friends ever since.
"Lilith!" my mom shouted. I froze before slowly turning to her. I haven't showered yet since I've been back. I know I was caught. Rylands scent was all over me. "Where were you? Did you leave the castle grounds? Why am I getting the scent of a werewolf on you?"
"I don't know," I mutter before walking away. I didn't get far when she spun me around and slammed me into the closest wall. "Alright, Damn. I left," I say. My mom glared at me. Her red eyes didn't leave me. I narrowed my eyes trying not to give into her powers. My mother had the ability to make anyone tell the truth. After a few seconds of her eyes burning into mine I let out a sigh. "I met up with a wolf. We've been friends for years. I also sneak out a lot," I say. My mom let me go before shaking her head.
"After I told you not to!" my mom shouted. I shrug my shoulders.
"It's boring here. I've seen everything and have done everything you can see and do here. Did you really expect me not to try and leave?" I asked.
"Yes, Lilith because you are not human. You feed off of humans. Your half demon and that side of you is not the best especially since it's paired with you being a vampire. You are no good," my mom says. I let out a laugh.
"My wolfy friend is fine, I've never hurt him. I say you should let me go to public school," I say ignoring my mom's opinion of me.
"You know what. You can go to whatever school your friend goes to. You slip up once and you'll never stray far from your bedroom," my mom seethed. I gave her a smirk.
"Great," I say before walking off. I leave the castle and run to Ryland's pack. I've been here before with him. And his guards know to let me through. I walk to his house before knocking on the door.
"It's open!" Ryland shouts. I push the door open and walk inside. Ryland was looking around the living room for something.
"What are you looking for?" I asked. Ryland looked at me.
"My phone," he says. I smirked as he continued to search for it. I took it from him earlier.
"If I find it you do something for me," I say. Ryland nods his head. He is used to it by now. He never knows I'm the one to hide his things in order for me to get something from him. I walk into the kitchen before walking back out. "It was next to the fridge," I say, tossing him his phone.
"Alright what do I gotta do?" Ryland asked. I sat down on his couch.
"My mother has agreed to let me go to your school so I need help signing up," I say. Ryland looked up at me quickly.
"She did? Have you ever been to school?"
"I have never been to school. I was taught at the castle. Mother never wanted me outside of the castle until I was 7," I say.
"And that is when you started leaving?"
"Yeah. It only took three hours to run around the place before I saw everything I wanted to," I shrug. Ryland nods his head. He helps me sign up for school. I should be in school by next week.
"So, you have the rest of this week to decide on how you're going to hide your eyes," Ryland says. I raise an eyebrow.
"What do you mean? What the fuck is wrong with my eyes?" I asked. I look over at the mirror hanging on the wall.
"Well, the school is full of humans as well as wolves. You'll be the only vampire. The humans don't know about us. Your eyes are a dead giveaway that you aren't human," Ryland says. I look at my eyes. My right eye was red with gold shards and the left was black. I blink my eyes a few times before looking back at Ryland.
"How did you do that?" Ryland asked leaning into me to look at my now brown eyes.
"Did I ever tell you I was part demon?" I asked. Ryland slowly shook his head.
"Now all those deals you make are making a whole lot of sense right now," Ryland says with a glare. I smiled at him.
"I can change the color of my eyes to give my demon side a new look. I would show you but it caused a vampire to go crazy," I say.
"Really?"
"No, but I still haunt their dreams at night," I say. Ryland stares at me.
"Show me." I shake my head.
"If I show you then my demon comes out. And she is worse than me,"
"Come on, I can handle her. If it's a deal she wants I won't make a deal with her," Ryland says.
"Don't do anything or say anything. You stay put right there. Everything is a trick with Brezin" I warn. Ryland nods. I let my demon out. Ryland's eyes widened. On my cheek bones were sharp black thorn like nubs. My eyes were more narrow. My cheeks were hollowed out like I was starving. I had horns sticking out of my head. My fangs had another next to the two I already had. My skin was a light gray. Around the base of my horns was black. My hollowed out cheeks were also black. Around my thorny cheeks have splotches of black. My whole eye was black.
My nails were longer and pointed. At the end of the pointed nail was more black. My demon looked in the mirror observing herself with a smirk. My hand comes up and touches my face.
"Wow, I am one hell of a demon," Brezin says. She finally looks at Ryland. "Well, well, well. It's about time I get to play with you," Brezin laughs. Her claw reaches out and she drags a finger down the side of Ryland's face. "It's ok to touch me," Brezin says. I roll my eyes at her. She was trying to get Ryland to touch her so she could break his fingers.
"Mm, what about a game? Care to play?" Brezin asked. There was a knock on the door. Brezin looked to the door causing me to take over. I changed back before looking at Ryland.
"Just to let you know if you touched her she was going to break your fingers," I say before standing up and opening the door. Ryland's beta walked inside. He eyes me before looking at his Alpha.
"Why did it smell like death here, more than usual when you're around?" Jack asked. I smirked.
"I would show you but you wouldn't survive," I say. Jack looked at me. I gave him an innocent smile.
"It makes perfect sense," Ryland mutters.
"I gotta go now, I'll see you both very soon," I say before walking away. After leaving the pack I ran home.
