Lilith's pov

Kadence and I laid in her bed. The tv was on but I wasn't watching it. My eyes were on Kadence. Her eyes were glued to the tv. My nose picked up two scents causing me to sit up quickly.

"What's wrong?" Kadence asked quickly. I rush to the window before opening it. I jumped out the window. I see my cousins running up to me. They tackle me to the ground. I let out a laugh as I pushed them off of me.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked. Talon and Griffin smiled at me. My cousin's were identical twins. The only difference was their eyes. They both had silver eyes but Talon had redshards and Griffin had black shards. It was a slight difference other than that you couldn't tell them apart.

"We moved back. Your mom called and said you bailed on taking over the throne. We are taking over," Griffin says.

"Both of you? I thought the oldest would get the throne?" I asked.

"Yeah but we would rather rule together," Talon says. Kadence's scent gets closer. Talon and Griffin sniffed the air before looking at Kadence. They run over to her at an inhuman speed causing her to close her eyes.

"Woah, she smells like you," Talon says. They were circling her. Kadence peaked her eyes open before opening her eyes fully. She looked at me questioningly.

"These are my cousins. Talon has red in his eyes Griffin has black. They moved back and are taking over the throne," I say. Talon and Griffin nod their heads. They continued to circle my beloved.

"Well I'm Kadence."

"So she's really your mate?" Griffin asked.

"Yes, now stop circling her like she's your next meal," I snapped. The twins stop before smiling at me.

"You know we don't drink from humans," Talon says. I roll my eyes.

"Yes I know but she didn't," I mutter.

"Sorry, we were excited Lilith found her beloved. We're still waiting on ours," Griffin says.

"So you both are going to be king?" Kadence asked. They nod their heads.

"Do you think we can get Lilith to bow to us?" Talon asked his brother.

"Not a chance," I say.

"So we ran into your father. He redecorated the place," Talon says.

"I wouldn't bring the human if you decide to visit him," Griffin says.

"What has he decorated with? He doesn't collect trophies like I do," I say.

"Well he hasn't really decorated, more like didn't clean up after himself," Talon whispers. Kadence rolled her eyes.

"I can hear you," Kadence mumbled.

"He usually doesn't until the bodies start to smell," I say. Kadence's eyes widened.

"He kills them?"

"Not exactly. It's his idea but he doesn't kill them. He has his fun for two or three days. They are then given a choice to continue or they have to kill themselves. If it makes you feel better he only goes after bad people. Or the type of people that won't be missed," I say. Kadence thought about it before nodding.

"I guess it makes me feel a little bit better," Kadence says.

"You are so much like your mom," I smile. Kadence rolled her eyes.

"Whatever," Kadence huffed before turning around and walking off.

"We're going to let you get back to her. We just came to invite you to our coronation this saturday. The offer of you taking over is still on the table. You have until this weekend," Talon says. Griffin nodded his head.

"No hard feelings if you decide you want the throne," Griffin says. I let out a sigh.

"Guys, taking over was never what I wanted. My mother forced me to stay in the castle most of my life before letting me roam the grounds but I still wasn't able to leave. She only let me leave to go to school because I was sneaking out. She wanted it to be her idea that I could leave. She wanted me to fail and attack the humans so she had a reason to keep me hidden. I'm free now and that is all I have ever wanted. I can be happy with my beloved. I wouldn't give that up to go back. You guys deserve it," I say. The twins smile at me before hugging me.

"Just when you find your mates and have kids promise me you won't keep them trapped there," I say.

"We promise," they say. I nod my head.

"I'll see you Saturday," I say. My cousins leave, causing me to go inside. Lily and Kadence were in the living room when I walked inside.

"Oh you weren't going to come in the way you left?" Kadence asked. I rub the back of my neck.

"Sorry, love. I haven't seen my cousins in years. I got excited when I smelled them," I mutter while taking a seat next to Kadence.

"Where were they?" Kadence asked. I let out a sigh.

"My mom and aunt Ivy got into a fight over me when I was around 10. My aunt wanted my mom to let me go out with them for the day and my mom wasn't having it. They got into a huge fight and my aunt left with the guys. Now that I'm not taking over they have to come back," I say.

"Oh," Kadence says.

"Do you both want to come to their coronation this Saturday? It's going to make history among the vampires. The first time we are getting two rulers who aren't together intimately," I state.

"Yeah that will be nice," Lily says. I nod and look at Kadence. She nods her head before leaning into my side. I look down at Kadence. She was playing with a strand of my hair. A smile appears on my face.

"Stop staring at me. You've been doing it all day. Aren't you getting tired of looking at me?" Kadence asked.

"Never. It just so happens your beauty draws me in and I can't look away," I say. Kadence rolls her eyes. Lily stands up and leaves the room.

"You are so in love with her," I hear Lily say from the other room. She walks back into the room causing me to smile at her. Lily smiled at me before heading to the door. "Alright I'm leaving for the night. Spend your alone time wisely Lilith," Lily says before leaving.

"What did she mean by that?" Kadence asked. I lift Kadence up causing her to wrap her legs around me.

"I think you know exactly what she means," I say, licking my mark. Her legs tighten around me as she moans.

"Why does that turn me on so much?" Kadence asked. I chuckle as I shut the bedroom door behind me.

"Because this mark is what truly binds us together," I mutter, placing a kiss on her neck.
