Lilith's pov

It's been five horrible days without Kadence. I didn't bother going to school. Fae, Zazz, Griffin, and Talon were keeping me company. Talon and Griffin were busy today so it was just us demons. It probably wasn't the best idea to leave us alone together.

Like right now we were playing catch. Fae was being thrown between Zazzeran and I. We were in the air and sometimes we purposely let Fae fall longer. We had her wings tied so she couldn't fly.

"Ahhh!" Fae yells before I catch her.

"Get down here!" Rylands voice shouts from below us. I swing Fae by her legs before tossing her to her brother before I fly down and land next to Ryland. Zazzeran lands next to us. Fae glares at us before running off. She tries to act like she doesn't like the game but she came up with it.

"Are you going to go back to Kadence?" Ryland asked.

"She's mad at me and I told her she can come get me when she is not mad," I say.

"You left her!" Ryland shouted.

"So she could cool down," I mutter, kicking a rock.

"You just hurt her," Ryland scoffs before walking away. I take a deep breath. What have I done? I hurt her by leaving. Tears fell down my face.

"Not this again. Keep those tears in," Zazz says with a sigh. I was usually crying when I remembered I wasn't with Kadence. I could feel her heartbreak. I've felt her pain since she saw me chop off Ben's hand. It usually took my friends and my cousins to keep my mind off of Kadence. They would all find one thing after another to keep me busy. I longed to be with her again.

By the time I got done crying I took a shower and then headed back to Kadence's. I couldn't bear being away from her any longer. When I walked into the house it was quiet. I could hear two heartbeats. One was steady like they were sleeping and the other one was slightly elevated. I see Lily walking around in the kitchen. She turned around and jumped. She gave me a glare before placing her hand on her heart.

"Say something next time," Lily muttered. She takes a deep breath.

"Sorry," I say. Lily removed her hand from her chest.

"Does Kadence know your back?" Lily asked. I shook my head. Lily nodded her head. "You shouldn't have left her."

"I know. I thought it was what would be best for her but Ryland stopped by and I know it wasn't," I say putting my head down. Lily placed her hands on my arms. She rubbed my shoulders.

"You can't leave her again. She thought you didn't want her anymore. I hated seeing and hearing her cry," Lily says. My heart clenched.

"She felt the same way about you after your ex mate rejected you. I would never leave her even if she asked me to," I say, wrapping my arms around Lily. Lily patted my back before I let her go.

"I'm gonna head up now. I hear Kadence shifting around restlessly," I say. Lily smiles at me before nodding. I climb the stairs and head to Kadence's room, I mean our room.

My hand twisted the doorknob quietly. My eyes land on Kadence. She was tossing from side to side. I knew how she felt. I couldn't sleep without her either. Kadence looked up at me. Her eyes widened before she pushed the covers off of her and she ran over to me. She threw herself at me. Her arms wrapped around my neck. I wrap my arms around Kadence tightly. Kadence placed her head in the crook of my neck. I lift her up carefully when I hear her soft snores. I lay down in the bed lightly without waking my tired beloved. I fell asleep instantly.

When I woke up Kadence was still sleeping. Kadence was sleeping on her back. My arm was wrapped around her and my leg was wrapped over hers. My head was buried in her neck. The scent of strawberries and roses were strong as I breathed in her scent.

My lips leave light feathery kisses on her neck. Kadence tense before relaxing. I lightly bite my mark. Kadence moaned in my ear. I continue trailing my kisses up her neck before capturing her lips with my own. Our tongues danced together as we kissed. I cup Kadence's face as I pull away. I kiss random spots on her face. Kadence laughed lightly.

"Don't ever leave me again," Kadence said when I looked into her eyes.

"I won't not even if you begged me to," I say. Kadence smiles at me. My eyes scan her face. "You haven't been eating," I state.

I sit up and carry Kadence downstairs. I sit her down on the counter before I pull out a pan and the eggs. I make Kadence some eggs and toast before I hand her the plate. Kadence heads to the table and sits down. I sat next to her. Kadence held her wrist out towards me. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What are you doing?" I asked. Kadence took a bite of toast.

"Offering you my blood to feed my mate," She mumbled. I shake my head.

"I'm not drinking from you," I say.

"Just do it. You won't kill me. My ability to heal has sped up quite a bit since you marked and mated with me. I will be fine," Kadence says.

"Love, I get you want me to eat but I don't drink human blood which includes yours," I say, kissing her cheek and pushing her hand down. "I'll just go find a deer," I mutter. Kadence narrowed her eyes on me.

"You better hurry and come back. I missed you," Kadence says. I nod my head before leaving the house and going into the woods. My eyes land on a deer. After stalking up to the deer I get close enough. I grab the deer and sink my fangs into the deer. Once I was full I dropped the deer. I drag the deer to Rylands pack. I always dropped the deer off at his pack borders so they could use the meat. Ryland insisted I do that instead of wasting the rest of the deer.
