Lilith's pov
Kadence gripped onto my hand tightly as we walked through Akiran's castle. All the guards were in their demon form. It was rare to see a demon in their human form. There was no need to use it down here. I glance at Kadence. She was looking around cautiously.
"Relax my love," I whisper in her ear.
"Walk faster," Xyla snapped. She shoved us forward.
"Put your hand on her again and that collar around your neck will be the least of your worries," I sneer. We stopped in the room. Akiran stood in front of me. A smirk on his face.
"Well done, Xyla. You may leave," Akiran says. Xyla bottom lip twitched before she walked out of the room.
"Damn, can I get in on that? My shoes are looking a little dirty," I say, holding my foot up and inspecting my shoe. Akiran chuckled.
"No, unfortunately for you I don't like you enough to let you control my daughter," Akiran says.
"Here I thought we were going to become best friends with this visit," I muttered. Akiran smiled.
"You're not far off. Your mother has been hounding my ass since your last visit. Something about how she wants us to get along. She doesn't trust you to not do something to us or our son in the future," he states. I smirk while licking my lips.
"She would be right. I already have something planned for the future. Depending on how mad you guys seem to make me," I say with a smile. Akiran's nostrils flared.
"My rebellion against you will be dropped. You are welcome back anytime you want," Akiran says. Kadence looked at me. Her hand tightened on mine. My wings shoot out. With a smirk I turned around. My head turned to look at Akiran. His jaw tightened as he saw my chains.
"But mine won't," I smirked. Akiran pulled on the chain. With a grunt I let Kadence's hand go. My wings rest against my back causing the chain to loosen. I do a backflip over Akiran and spread my wings out. The chain caught his neck and he was pressed against my back with my chain choking him. "Who knew this chain would come in handy other than pissing you off," I laugh.
"Let him go, Lilith," my mother says. I glance at her before bending forward. A strangled grunt leaves Akiran's mouth as I flung him forward. My wings disappear into my back. Akiran's body slid across the floor and stopped right in front of my mom.
"To think I was offering a truce and you would accept it," Akiran grits while standing up.
"Oh I accept it. I just needed to do that before I accepted. That was for bringing me down here and letting your daughter torture me. Now what I want to know is why you have her collared?" I asked. Akiran rubbed his neck.
"The bitch attacked me for threatening to kill you if she didn't torture you. Since you're a hybrid we don't know if you'll come back, she didn't like that," Akiran states. I chuckle while shaking my head.
"Well she is in love with me," I mutter. Kadence frowned. I pull her into me and peck her lips. "Stop that."
"I want you to meet your brother," my mom says. I look behind Kadence and at my mom. She had a baby in her arms. I pull Kadence with me to get a closer look. My eyes glance down at the sleeping baby.
"He's cute," Kadence gushed. I look at her with narrowed eyes.
"Don't say that. His ugly ass looks like his father," I say before smirking at Akiran. Kadence hit my shoulder. I chuckle before kissing her temple.
"His name is Zander. Like Akiran said, you are welcome here anytime. You can visit as much as you please. I also wanted to apologize for not allowing you out of the castle or the wall. You just have to understand that you are a hybrid. You tend to not be the nicest. I wasn't going to risk the safety of the humans because you wanted to run free. I wasn't aware of how bad you could be out of my sight. I recently found out you keep trophies. That was what I was scared of. I kept you locked away to protect others and it seems I have failed. You still got to them even if I wasn't aware of it. I also want you and Akiran to try and to get along," My mother says. I smirk before looking away from her.
"Yeah, That makes sense. If that is what you want then I guess I can somehow make it work," I mutter. My eyes shift over to Akiran. He had a smug look on his face. "Is this a kiss and make up thing or will a handshake work for you?" I asked. Akiran glared before holding his hand out. I shake his hand before quickly letting it go. "Kadence, this is Akiran. Akiran, this is my beloved Kadence," I say. Kadence offered him a small smile. Akiran nodded before holding his hand out. Kadence went to shake his hand but I pulled her hand away from his.
"We are not that close for you to touch her," I mutter. Akiran dropped his hand.
"Understood," Akiran says. My eyes land on Zander when he moves and makes gurgling noise. My hand comes up and I place it on his face. He was still able to breathe. My hand started glowing. "What are you doing?"
"I'm giving him a curse," I mutter. My mom instantly held Zander with one arm and placed the other on Akiran.
"She's joking," my mom says quickly. My eyes squint before I remove my hand.
"He's a vampire. Seems like your demon genes aren't as strong as my father's," I smirk. Akiran rolled his eyes. "Sucks for him. In a world full of demons and he ends up being a vampire. Which makes me instantly question how that makes you feel? The one who absolutely hates Vampires ends up being mated to one and having another," I say.
"My hatred towards vampires originated from you," Akiran smirked.
"Glad to be the cause," I mutter. My mom smiled.
"Who would have thought this day would happen?" my mom asked.
"Me, I knew it was coming. Was just waiting for it to happen," I say. My mom rolled her eyes.
"Kadence, how have you been?" my mom asked.
"I've been good," Kadence mumbled.
"If you could leave Lilith would you?" My mom asked. She looked into Kadence's eyes causing them to glow. She was using her powers to make Kadence tell the truth.
"No, never," Kadence says. My mom smiled before nodding.
"Good," she says.
"Let's not use our powers on Kadence," I mutter. Kadence looked at me.
"So you can use your powers everytime someone talks but I can't?" my mom asked. I let out a sigh.
"If I had the ability to stop then I would," I shake my head.
"What about the other power you have?" my mom asked. I raise an eyebrow at her. "The one where you are an asshole to everyone without trying... oh wait is that not a power?" my mom asked, causing me to laugh.
"Good one. Now if we're done here. We gotta get back, we have school tomorrow. I need to be well rested to make sure my plan to mess with Kaylen goes well," I say, pulling on Kadence's hand.
"Whose Kaylen?" my mom asked. I smile at her.
"My new mother," I smirk. My mom raised an eyebrow at me. "Dad found his mate. And turns out you aren't the only one who is giving me a sibling," I mutter. My mom nods her head.
"That's great that we both found the one we were meant to be with," my mom says.
