Lilith's pov
Week three at school went by. Classes were boring. Homework sucked and the only thing I look forward to is seeing Kadence. I invited my friends over to an abandoned cabin I found near the castle that belonged to my dad when he was around. He is currently away. If you climb a tree high enough you can see beyond the wall and see the castle.
Kadence, Kayla, and Rylan walk into the cabin. Ryland looks around at the walls. There was dry blood all over the walls and chains in the corner.
"I wouldn't touch anything. This place was my fathers playhouse. As you can see the way he like to play was to torture," I say.
"Why are we here then?" Kayla asked.
"It is closest to the castle wall," I muttered before walking outside the smell of the old blood was getting to me. "So I'm ready to ask my questions now," I say. The girls look at me before their heartbeats increase. "Kadence... have you ever wanted to be a vampire?" I asked. Kadence looked at me before pursing her lips.
"I don't think I have. There was never a point in my life of wanting to change who I am," Kadence shrugged. I turn my head to the side.
"You get to keep your tongue," I mutter. My eyes go to Kayla. I smirk before walking around her. Kayla was tense as she dropped her head to the ground. "You are a human. A weak one at that," Ryland growled at me. He wasn't going to like my question. "How do you expect to protect a pack when the supernatural is stronger, faster, and wiser than you? One small movement of my wrist and you're dead," I say. Ryland tackled me to the ground. I rolled away from him. Brezin took control. My wings shoot out of my back. The chains rustled as I flexed my wing muscles.
My wings were black and jagged. The chains were like a piercing. When my wings were relaxed behind me they would dangle. When flying the chain would lay flat against my wings.
Ryland charged at me. I move out of the way before grabbing him by the throat. My claws dig into his neck.
"Answer the question!" Brezin shouts. Kayla looked at us in horror. Kadence just had raised eyebrows. Her head was tilted to the side as she looked over me. I flew into the air holding Ryland by the neck. "If you don't I get your tongue and I drop him,"
"I don't know!" Kayla shouts. "I never thought about it, I just hoped that day would never come. It scares me that there are creatures like yourself out there. I would try my best and probably end up dying," Kayla says. I take over Brezin. I was still shifted into my demon body. I land on the ground and let Ryland go. He held his throat as he looked at me. Ryland went over to Kayla and wrapped his arms around her.
"Relax, you'll live," I mutter. His eyes widened.
"You can control being out when shifted!?" Ryland shouted at me.
"Yeah," I mutter.
"You made it seem like you couldn't. You could have stopped her any second and you chose not to!"
"I tend not to. This is her body. This one is mine," I say shifting back.
"Where the hell did the wings come from? They weren't there last time," Ryland says. I chuckle before letting my wings out. I look back at them.
"I didn't bring them out then," I say. I stretch my wings out towards him. "The longest feather is actually as sharp as a blade, the rest are soft," I say.
"I'm not touching it," Ryland scoffed. I held my other wing out for Kadence. She shrugged and went to reach out before stopping.
"Is there a catch?" she asked. I roll my eyes and lift my wing up to her hand. She jumped back causing me to laugh.
"For you never," I say. Kadence slowly put her hand on my wing.
"Wow," Kadence mutters as her hand roamed over my wing. A tingling sensation was left behind from her touch. My hand reached out and touched her arm. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow. My eyebrows furrowed when the tingling sensation wasn't on my hand. It was warm when I touched her.
"Don't freak out," I say before shifting. My hand that touched her tingled. Kadence's eyebrows furrowed. I shift back causing it to become warm again.
"What are you doing?" Ryland asked. I put my wings away before leaning against the tree. My arms crossed over my chest as I looked at Kadence.
"Do you feel tingles?" I asked before motioning my head to Kayla.
"Yeah," Ryland says.
"I feel warmth. Brezin's body feels the tingles," I mutter. Kayla furrowed her eyebrows before looking from me to Kadence.
"Kadence, is your mate?" Kayla asked. Kadence looked at me.
"Vampires call it their beloved," Ryland says before kissing Kayla's cheek.
"That didn't answer my question," Kayla says. I look at Kadence.
"Yes," I say.
"Why haven't you acted on it then?" Kayla asked. Kadence looked at me curiously. I shake my head while chuckling.
"Did you really forget what I am? I'm sure she doesn't want to be with a vampire demon," I say.
"How do you know what she wants? Did you even tell her she is your mate?" Kayla asked. I roll my eyes at her.
"Did you guys want to see the castle or not?" I asked.
"Are you ignoring my questions?" Kayla asked.
"That's a discussion for Kadence and I, not your nosey ass. So the castle?"
"How are we going to see the castle?" Kadence asked. I motion for them to follow me. We walk through the woods for a little while before coming to a wall.
"How are we going to see it with the wall in the way?" Kayla asked. I point to the top before letting out my wings.
"Who wants to go first?" I asked. They all look around. Ryland stepped forward. I wrap my arms around him before flying up. I set him down on the wall. The wall was thick enough that there was enough to move around on the wall. I fly down and grab Kayla causing her to shriek. I laugh before setting her down next to Ryland.
"You ready?" I asked while flying down. My feet land on the ground next to Kadence. I grab her hand. Kadence nods her head. I wrap my arms around her. Kadence placed her lips on mine as I lifted us off the ground. She pulls away and gives me a smile.
"I do want to be with you," Kadence says. I look into her eyes and nod my head. I placed her on the wall.
