Lilith's pov
My phone rings causing me to dig it out of my back pocket. I answered the phone and put it on the counter. Since my hearing is good I didn't need to put it on speaker or up to my ear. "My love?"
"Eric works fast," Kadence says, causing me to chuckle.
"That he does," I say. Kayla furrowed her eyebrows before she leaned over and put my phone on speaker so she could hear. "Why are you standing that close to me?" I asked. Kayla glared at me before I shoved her away. "Kadence, how are you friends with this girl?" Kayla gasped as she looked at me.
"Some people aren't assholes and find me quite nice to be around!" Kayla shouted.
"Kadence is your only friend. So, what people are you talking about?" I asked.
"Why are you here again?" Kayla asked. I look around the house.
"Well this is Ryland's house I wasn't expecting you to be here and him to be gone," I snapped. Kayla groaned as she threw her head back.
"Why don't you go find him, then? Nobody said you had to stay here!" Kayla shouted.
"I was waiting here for him, but it seems I found the reason why he hasn't come back yet and she's standing right in front of me," I say. Kayla gasped and threw a spoon at me. I dodge it causing it to land on the ground behind me.
"Oh that is a low blow," Kayla snapped. She threw the fruit from the fruit bowl at me. I dodge them easily. "Fucker! Stop moving!" Kayla shouts. I dodge an apple.
"Ow," Kadence says. I spin around with furrowed eyebrows.
"How did you get here so fast?" I asked. Kayla hit my back with an orange.
"Zazz, gave me a lift," Kadence says. Another fruit hit my back.
"Quit throwing shit at me!" I caught the next two fruits and threw them back at Kayla.
"Ow! Did you have to throw them that hard?" Kayla asked. I laugh at her.
"I barely threw them," I say. Kadence shook her head as she stepped over the fruit on the ground. She walked over to me and wrapped her arms around me. I wrap an arm around her while I tilt her head up. My lips connect with hers. An apple hit my back again causing me to pull away from Kadence. "Are you done yet?" I asked.
"I ran out of fruit," Kayla says. Kadence grabbed my left hand and put a ring on my finger. I look down at it. It was a black band with tiny pink sapphires in the band. My eyes land on Kadence's hand. She had a gold band with tiny black diamonds.
"I love you," I say. Kadence smiles up at me.
"You better we're getting married on Friday," Kadence says. A smile appeared on my face.
"Woah. Married on Friday?" Kayla asked. The door opens and Ryland walks into the house.
"Why am I hearing about a wedding? It's been buzzing around the pack all day," Ryland asked.
"Coronation is what was spread around, how did it get flipped to wedding?" I asked. Ryland gave me a look.
"It is a coronation that I heard," Ryland says. He looks at Kadence before smirking at me. "I read the big book that one day in the library," Ryland stated.
"How much did you read? They call it the big book for a reason," I say. Ryland raised an eyebrow.
"A human must be married to the royal heir in order to be crowned, is on what page?" Ryland asked.
"Page 70," I say. They all look at me with a raised eyebrow. "What? I read the book when I was 6 then once again during my studies. You have to know the book inside and out as an heir," I mutter.
