Lilith's pov

"So why are we helping them out?" Talon asked. We were walking through the woods. The twins spent two hours yelling at me for what I did to Rune. It was now 9 in the evening. Rune sprayed us with the spray his mom made.

"Because I might have also messed up the friendship I had with the alpha. I cut off the hand of one of his pack members and things between us have not been the same," I mumble.

"You know my mom can reattach body parts if they are still in good shape," Rune says. I look at him.

"I know. I want this wolf to suffer a little longer. He touched what was mine," I say. The pack house was up ahead a little ways. "I just have to tell Ryland what I planned and then we will spread out around the border and wait," I say.

Ryland and Jack rush out of the pack house but stop when he sees me. Ryland raised an eyebrow at me.

"If you're going to hide your scents, give me a heads up next time," Ryland snapped. I roll my eyes.

"Of course," I say. Jack furrowed his eyebrows as he looked into Rune's eyes. Rune stood behind me frozen. "This is Rune. That is Ryland and his beta Jack," I say.

"What are you doing here with them?" Ryland asked.

"You have a problem we are going to help you with," I say. I push Ryland and Jack inside. My friends follow me. I push them into Ryland's office. We all filed into the room before the door was shut behind us.

"Look I'm not participating in whatever you are offering. With you I know it always comes with a price. I'm not wagering my pack's safety over one of your deals," Ryland says.

"Oh just cut the crap and let me talk," I say. Ryland shook his head before sitting down at his desk. He motioned for me to continue. "I messed up and all I'm here to do is help. I don't need anything from you. I'm just trying to fix things between us," I mutter.

"That's the thing Lilith, you wouldn't have to fix things between us if you didn't harm one of my pack members," Ryland says. Jack nods his head.

"Jack stay out of this... wait no, I take that back," I say. My cousins and friends chuckle at me. "I know I shouldn't have attacked Ben. After me and my scentless friends take care of the rogue problem I can reattach his hand," I say.

"Alright do what you have to do," Ryland says.

I nod my head before walking out of his office. My friends follow me and I set them all up around the pack border. Rune walked beside me silently.

"You will watch this side. There are a few guards over there. Watch from the trees like the others. You know what to do if they come through this side," I say. Rune nods his head before jumping into the tree. He looks down at me as I start walking away. I let out a sigh before walking back to Rune. I jump up and grab a branch. I climb up and sit on a branch in front of Rune. Rune looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"I just want to apologize for taking my anger out on you. Trust me when I say this, it had nothing to do with you. My cousins were always there for me to release my anger but when they left I didn't know how to deal with it. I shouldn't have waited this long to say sorry," I mutter.

"You know you were wrong and have apologized. I guess I can't hold that against you," Rune says with a small smile.

"So what's with the look the beta gave you?" I asked. Rune bit his lip while picking at the bark on the tree.

"He is my beloved," Rune says. I raise an eyebrow.

"How would he know? Your scent is hidden right now," I asked.
