We had been driving all night, getting away from Li Jing and the Celestial armies.

Macaque sacrificed himself for us to get away, but we still had to fix the universe.

We still had to fix what we broke.

MK looked out the vehicles window at the cracking sky while my head rested on his lap. "Feels like we're jumping from one apocalypse to the next."

"But you said there was a way to fix this, right little man?" Sandy looked back at us.

"Something about stones?" Mei says.

"Five-colored stones." Monkey King rubs his head.

Tang immediately squeals in excitement. "The stones that the goddess Nuwa used to mend the heavens? I didn't think they were real."

MK nods. "They are! They're just hidden and guarded, and we have no idea where to find them."

"What?!" Pigsy shouts.

"It's fine." MK says. "All we gotta do is gather the five stones, find the pillar oh heaven, mend the cracks in reality, and fix everything. Bingo bango, good as new."

"Sure doesn't sound fine to me." Ink whispers in my ear.

"Be quiet, im trying to ignore the fact that there is a circlet on my head, or do you want more jar time?" I glared at Ink's face.

"No." Ink grumbles and shuts up.

"Whoa! What about the thing where we don't know where these stones are?" Pigsy shouts.

"That's why... ready?" MK says. "We're gonna ask someone who does. Nuwa!"

Mk presented a drawing of Nuwa to everyone.

"Yes!" Mei said excitedly. "She's gotta have a temple we could go to, right?"

"At the Burning Mountain!" Monkey King looked back at us.

"Oh!"

"Yeah!"

MK and Mei both cheered.

"What? No!" Tang shook his head. "We're not going to the Burning Mountain. It's burning."

Monkey King smirks. "So, are you going to keep complaining while I do the lore dump, or--."

Tang suddenly stops freaking out. "Oh, all right."

Tang wipes off his clothes and clears his throat. "The Burning Mountain rises high above the sunrise jungle of the East. Legend tells of a fiery beast that guards secrets from a past calamity and a hidden temple to Nuwa herself. But if that's where you're going, count me out. I've had enough trials by fire without getting literal about it."

"Sounds like Tangy's on board." Samdy spoke up, making Tang look terrified. "Let's go!"

Sandy stepped on the gas as we made our way to our destination.

A while later, we made it to the Burning Mountain.

Everyone got out of the vehicle, but MK insisted he carry me.

"Come on, Sweet Pea." MK tried to coax me out. "I just want to carry you."

"I can walk myself, you know." I got out of the truck, only to trip and fall.

"I got you." MK caught me, holding me in his arms, and smirked at me. "You were saying?"

I blushed, getting out of his arms. "Shut up..."

"Hey! When you two are done flirting over there, come on! We're here!" Ink shouted at us.

Me and MK walked over and joined the others at the bottom of the Burning Mountain.
