Deacon
My heart is racing, what was I thinking buying her a damn colt? How could I resist the way her face lit up, her hands on her heart and those big eyes of hers as she saw him coming out into the ground. Maxine had given me that knowing look of hers, the one that says I knew it. Yeah, well.
I watch as Daisy comes out of her place, she's wearing jeans that look like they're sprayed on her lean legs and I am betting her ass is real high, damn it my dick twinges. Not now. She gives me a brief wave.
"Hey, thanks for coming to get me, I had a couple of drinks with Lottie."
"Where is Lottie? I thought she was coming with you?" Not that I mind, I mean having Daisy all to myself for an hour or two, is the best thing ever. Okay, I intend to not hover over her when she is with Dreamer, it's not like she doesn't know anything about horses. Daisy was always at ours riding when we were younger, my folks always had horses and my granddaddy. Logan has had horses for as long as I can remembers, you know she knows her way around a horse.
"Er, she decided she had something else she needed to do." That sounds pretty ominous. I am wondering if Lottie has ditched her best friend for a reason, a meddling reason more than likely. Lottie can work in mysterious ways that is for sure.
"How is he?" Daisy asks as she snaps the seatbelt in.
"The same as when you saw him just a few hours ago. He is settled in, my two seem okay with him. We'll know more tomorrow when I let them out into the big paddock."
"You'll keep an eye on him though won't you. Only, I've got to go to the store and finish off the bridesmaid dresses. I've only got an adjustment to do for Lottie's."
Is she rambling? It sounds like it, maybe Daisy is nervous sitting in the truck with me. It makes me smile. My palms are sweating, what is going on with me? I am a grown man in his mid thirties, not some young kid going out on his first date.
"I'll be with them. You don't honestly think I'd let him go out first time unattended. Come on, Daisy you know me better than that." I try to keep my eyes on the road ahead and not on her breast which are looking perky in her tight green sweater. She smells of perfume, floral essence, I wonder if she has just put it on for me. I mean, she wouldn't freshly spritz herself to go see a horse. Would she? Who knows how a woman's mind works, especially Daisy's.
"Thank you, Deacon. I still can't tell you how over the moon I am that you bought him for me and keeping him at yours. I thought I'd be taking him to Logan's." I want to tell her, that if I could, I'd pick the moon right out of the sky and place it on the palm of her hand. I stop myself before something stupid comes right out of my mouth. I have to remember that she is ten years younger than me, whatever the spark is that keeps igniting between us, it's probably some kind of mild flirtation. No one as feisty, outgoing and as beautiful as Daisy would want to date an older man like me. She deserves to be with someone her own age, who isn't going to be hitting nearly forty.
"Told you, he can stay at mine for however long you want him to. No need to move him to Logan's." We pull off the road along the track, my truck handles the dips and stones well, it's built for it. The track leads to Logan's cabin in the woodland and then a short distance further, to mine. We always said, growing up that we wanted to practically live in each other's pockets and yeah, I guess we do now. We still have our privacy since there are trees between us and land, but if we fancy a beer together, we can just walk the five minutes to one another's places.
"We're here." Daisy is practically jumping up and down in her seat. I wish she wouldn't do that, it's giving me all sorts of funny ideas, imaging her bouncing up and down on my lap. God help me, this woman is making my dick want to be released from my tight jeans. I knew I should have worn baggier ones, not these that are fresh out of the wash.
I pull the truck up and the handbrake on, kill the engine and watch as she jumps out of the truck like a bat out of a hell. It makes me chuckle, she sure is excited to see Dreamer.
Her arms are around his neck as she stands on the stable side of the his door. His eyes are big and brown as they glance at me walking towards the two of them. "Can you see how friendly he is? Look his head is over my shoulder." She sounds like the young woman that she is. It makes my heart melt. I take in her slender frame, her high ass and groan inwardly, I have got to stop thinking about Daisy like this damnit. Being so close to her as I stand on her left hand side is making me feel dizzy with her scent and closeness. I want to reach my hand out and touch her soft and delicate hand.
Shit I have got it so bad for her.
