Deacon

That girl makes me hot under the collar that is for sure. I wanted to pick her up and twirl her around, she looked so damn cute in that dress of hers. Her smile wide and bright, she lights up the sky at night. Just looking at Daisy is like a clear blue sky in the summer. Magical, calming and heartwarming. That sums her up.

I'm looking forward to my poker night with the guys later over at Logan's. I'll get back in my truck now I've had my last glimpse of Daisy for the day. Am I becoming a pervert? I mean, I did drive back to Main Street to see her leave work for the day. Lucky for me she was out later than she usually is.

Man, I think I've got it bad. I've always liked her since we were teenagers but this, now, it's getting worse. I've got no interest in other women even though I see a few over in Copper town but lately I haven't even bothered. My hand is doing the job and a nice warm shower.

On my way back to my ranch, just a two mile drive off Main Street I consider heading over to my folks house. They live close to Daisy and Logan's folks. It's been a couple of days since I have dropped into see them and I could do with some of my mom's special baked apple pie. She's going to be helping out at the fundraiser with Daisy's mom to bake pies and cakes, they're going to make a killing. They always do.

I take a left at the top of main with the mountain view and sprawling forest land in sight. The fall daylight is changing now we're heading into dusk, the blue sky is dotted with pinkish tinged clouds and it sure is pretty. As pretty as Daisy. Damn, I cannot get my mind off her. She is always on it. I wake up thinking about her and I go to sleep thinking about her and then some in between.

My folks house is just up ahead and I can see my mom in her beloved garden, she looks to be pruning some rosebushes. Hearing my truck she looks up and gives me a wave. Her smile spreads across her face. I park up and hop out.

"Deacon, wasn't expecting you this evening. What a nice surprise."

"Hey, Mom." I say as I go over and plant a kiss on her soft cheek. "Couldn't resist coming to see my favorite lady." I tip my hat at her. Mom places a hand on my cheek.

"So good to see you. Come on let's go in. Do you want coffee or a nice fresh homemade lemonade?" Mom also makes the best lemonade this side of West Virginia.

"A cold glass of your lemonade, Mom of course." She giggles. "Where's pop?" I ask as I place my hat on the oak dresser she has standing in the wide entrance hall. I am mindful to slip my shoes off knowing my mom cleans almost daily. Where she gets all that energy I have no idea but she's a proud house-lady that is for sure.

"Oh, he's off in his den out back. Tinkering away. You know your father. I'll give him a shout." By that she means she'll call him on his mobile. It still makes me chuckle how these two communicate if they're not in the same room together. For a couple who didn't want mobile phones to begin with, they're now pretty partial to them.

I follow mom into the kitchen with it's large, sliding glass doors that take up the entire back wall. From the kitchen you can see forest land out back. My dad inherited the house from his daddy who inherited it from his. We're from the original descendants of Willowbrook. I find that pretty neat. It's a two floor house that is shaped as an L, with the lounge off the hallway on the right, a small toilet area opposite then down the hallway the kitchen. There is the corridor along the L part that leads to main bedroom suite with a balcony and it's own full bathroom.

Upstairs are four bedrooms each with a bathroom that dad had added on when they decided to have a family. That is my brother, Jefferson who is older than me by three years, he is now thirty eight, and is a lawyer with his offices here in Willowbrook. He is married to Stella who is a stay at home mom, taking care of their three kids. She used to be his assistant once upon a time and though she is a full time mom and housekeeper, she still helps him out working from home when he needs it. It's a win-win for both of them.
