Daisy

Everyone is seated as the chairs line up on two sides of the isle that lead to the platform Logan and his band built. An arch of flowers surrounds it from one end to the other and it is as pretty as a picture, all with poinsettias, white and blush roses and foliage. It's fitting for a winter wedding. Logan had one of his fir trees by the stage decorated with baubles of white and silver, with the snow fall there is a dusting on the branches, it is breathtaking, I can't take my eyes off it.

My peach bridesmaid dress hangs to the floor, it's an A-line and makes me feel like something out of the Victorian era with it's square neckline and velvet matching ribbon that ties under my breasts and then there is Deacon. Oh my, he cuts a dashing figure in his charcoal grey dress pants, a striped waistcoat, a dark charcoal tail coat to match his pants and a starched white shirt. He wears his cowboy hat in typical off duty, Deacon style and I can see that Logan has his on too. These two they think they're damn cowboys, it's adorable. And it makes my heart lift, I recall the two of them in their baseball sweats and outfits as kids, the way they'd bum around in torn jeans in their teens, chewing gum, combing their hair and trying to be cool. Here they are standing as fine men, in all their finery awaiting the beautiful bride.

I'm grateful for the faux fur, cream stowel around my shoulders as the air is fresh this morning, the sun is out and there are drifting clouds in the sky. It couldn't be a more perfect day for these two to get married. I cannot wait to see Sage in her ivory dress with lace bodice and long sleeves, tiny buttons up the back from the base of her spine and a gentle floating skirt with a trailing piece. She has opted for no veil saying that at her age she really doesn't need a veil and besides it's a bit too old fashioned for her. I kid you not, the woman is only in her thirties, that's hardly old, right?

Sadie looks adorable dressed just like me, her hair has been toned down for the wedding and is a gorgeous chestnut color, I'm telling you with her stunning green eyes with amber flecks in them, she looks amazing.

I see my mom dabbing her eyes with a hankie, dressed in a powder, pale blue skirt suit and matching shoes. They're an old pair she had that we dyed together and they have come out beautiful, exactly the shade of her outfit. Dad has his arm around mom and wears the same outfit being father of the groom, as Logan and Deacon. On the opposite seats sits Sage's mother, elegant and beautiful in an ivory lace skirt over satin fabric that swishes as she walks, on her top half she wears a high necked cream, lace blouse that is identical in lace as Sage's bodice. All my hard work can be seen and I am going to admit, I feel mighty proud of myself right now. I even made the wool camel colored coat she wears over the top.

Fallon stands beside Sadie, gorgeous as ever with her cascading hair falling around her shoulders and a single blush pink rose tucked behind her ear. The photographers snap away and the music begins, all heads are turned towards the back of the cabin where we see Sage appear her arm linked in her father's hand. The bouquet of white lilies hangs down setting off the dress perfectly, she's elegant, beautiful and the epitome of femininity. I feel the lump in my throat, oh God not now. Do not cry, Daisy, do not cry you'll ruin your make up that took a while. I wipe a tear away, how can I not cry? She's beautiful like an angel gliding down the aisle with Eliza in front throwing out blush rose petals. I glance at Deacon who gives me a wink, that one that makes my knees go weak.

Sage's father looks so proud to have his daughter on his arm, and leans in to whisper something in her ear. Sage grins and nods her head. The special moment between father and daughter as he walks her down the aisle to the man who will look after her, support her and be with her for eternity. I put a hand to my heart. Deacon smiles and blows me a kiss. Sadie has tears in her eyes and Fallon wipes hers away.

Logan puffs out his chest but he isn't fooling me either, I can see tears welling in his eyes. She is a vision.

Her father lets go of her arm, Sage looks like she's going to cry too, this is such a pivotal moment it's charged with emotion. He kisses her cheek and says something to her. Sage gives him a hug careful not to crush her bouquet. Logan steps up, they look deep into each other's eyes. Oh, I swear this is too much. I'll be a puddle of emotional tears in no time. He kisses her softly on the lips.

The preacher coughs, "er sorry no kissing until after the ceremony." Logan shoots him a look.

The ceremony starts then Logan begins his vows.

My darling Sage,

From the moment I met you, my heart recognized you as its home. In your eyes, I see my future, in your smile, I find my joy, and in your heart, I discover a love deeper than I ever dreamed possible. Today, as we stand here, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible journey that has led us to this moment.

I vow to be your steadfast partner in all of life's adventures. To support you in your dreams and to celebrate with you in your successes. I promise to listen to you with compassion and understanding, to speak to you with kindness and honesty, and to cherish every moment we share together.

You are my best friend, my confidante, and my one true love. I promise to stand by your side through the highs and lows, to hold your hand when times are tough, and to dance with you when life is beautiful. I will be your rock when you need strength, your cheerleader when you need encouragement, and your safe haven when you need peace.

As we embark on this new chapter together, I vow to nurture our love, to respect our differences, and to cultivate a life filled with laughter, adventure, and endless affection. I will love you with all that I am and all that I will become. Today, I give you my heart completely, for now and forever.

There isn't a dry eye anywhere close by, even Sage has tears rolling down her face. Oh my, I fan my face, Fallon and Sadie hold hands and Sadie grabs mine. "So beautiful, right?" I say. They nod.

We listen as Sage says her vows, her mother is almost blubbering as she blows her nose and finally, the preacher claims them both as man and wife. Logan hands his hat that he was holding in his hands in front of him, to Deacon and places an arm around Sage's waist, the other hand resting on the back of her head as he leans her slightly back and kisses her. The photographers are having a field day. They come up for air and we all clap and cheer. This has got to be the most romantic wedding I've ever been to and I've attended a few, the setting, their horses by the end of the aisle waiting to take them down the track to where Logan and Sage have a large marquee waiting to entertain us all.

Logan and Sage hold hands and lead us down the aisle, followed by my father linking arms with Sage's mother, my mother linking with Sage's daddy then Deacon linking arms with me.

"So, Buttercup. It's going to be us next, just a few months and I'll be the proudest man alive."

He kisses me as warmth floods through my body, I melt to his touch. Hell, I know we're holding up the procession but nobody cares. Deacon's eyes twinkle, his chest puffs out. "I can't wait to make you my wife, Daisy. We are going to have the wildest adventures, the cutest babies, and I swear to God, I will never let you down."

My heart is soaring on angel's wings right now, I know aside from Sage at this very moment, that I am the luckiest woman alive.
