They head back to the academy to see how Ryder and the others are doing, and we find them in the courtyard.
portal master: just like chasing down Nightshade at Midnight Museum all over again, when he tried to steal Dark Eye of Unvisibility. oh, also you guys were sky-tastic, and that was a way better visit then our first trip to barkingburg.
Zuma (surprised): Wait, you've been there before?
Spyro: Surprisingly, yes. Before we met you.
Zap: and get this? We even found a way into your mission PAW base.
Ryder, Katie and pups: "jaws drop".
Rocky (surprised): But, how?
Wham-shell: we were checking bodies of water, and we found some pieces of metal in the rock.
Dive-clops: We opened it and there it was.
Echo: Computer screen, vehicles, gear, you name it.
patrol master: don't worry pups, everything's still there
Ryder, Katie and pups: "jaws still dropped".
max: Anyway, How are you guys doing?
Ryder: Good, but what was that back there?
Portal master: what was what? Ryder: the crystal thing you had.
max: oh yeah, those are the traptanium crystals, I never go anywhere without them or sky-watch.
Skye: how do they work?
Portal master: you really want to know?
Pups (excited): yes.
Portal master: ok, if you insist.
The portal master holds his hand out again, having six traps appear.
Then six vortexes form overhead
chase: i don't like this. portal master: rubble's the digger, so he gets the earth trap. Zuma loves swimming, so he gets the water trap. Skye likes flying, so she gets the air trap. Rocky enjoys recycling, so he gets the life trap. Marshall the firefighter, so he gets the fire trap. And Chase has the spy gear, so he gets the tech trap.
The pups then start being dragged to the vortexes
pups (scared and screaming): SAVE US!!
Ryder: really!?
portal master: what, i asked "you really want to know" and they said "yes"!
Ryder: Why aren't me, Katie and Cali being sucked in?
Portal master: they only capture the intended target.
they look back up just as the pups are fully down the drain. than trails of light going from the vortexes to the crystals (Katie: what was that? Portal master: the trails of light indicate the pups being placed in the traps.
Pups (in the traps): hey,
let us out,
where are we,
it's very dark,
why's it tight in here,
why do i smell mustard?
Portal master and kids: "giggling".
Ryder (while giggling): Did they really just say mustard?
max (while giggling): yeah, not the first time I've heard that.
Rocky (scared): can we come out now?
Portal master: oh, right.
In another flash of light, the pups were standing in front of them.
pups (excited): YAY, WE'RE OUT!.
They try to playfully tackle the max again.
portal master: ha-this time, i'll dodge you pups blindfolded (finger snap and a blindfold appears).
Chase (to pups): this'll be easy. Marshall go first.
Portal master: marshall in front.
He ducks and Marshall flies over him and smacks the wall,
max: ha, miss me.
Rubble tries.
portal master: rubble on the left
max rolls backward
max: ha, you missed too, rubble.
The remaining pups try (chase (jokingly): ok guys, get him.
portal master: rocky from behind (rocky jumps, misses and lands in a flowerbed), miss me.
max: Chase from in front (chase jumps, misses and lands in Persephone's courtyard), miss me.
max: Skye from behind (Skye jumps, misses and lands in front of sharpfin's pit crew station), miss me.
max: Zuma from the left (Zuma jumps, misses and lands in a nearby river), miss me.
the portal master takes off the blindfold.
max: well, that was fun.
the pups stand back up as Ryder and Katie are laughing.
But then, drill sergeant appeared, drills and blaster going crazy.
drill sergeant: portal master, help.
Portal master: don't worry drill sergeant. Ryder, Katie, pups. Get down.
Marshall: What about you?
Portal master: I'll be fine. I've done this before.
max jumps and ducks past drill sergeant's drills and manages to get behind him and deactivate him.
pups: "sigh of relief".
Portal master (opens up drill sergeant): now, what do we have? Ah-ha. ok and... there.
"reactivities drill sergeant".
drill sergeant (drills aren't going crazy): thank you, portal master.
Portal master: no need.
Time skip: that evening (after checking with the other Skylanders)
portal master: so, how are we going with the superchargers?
Sprocket: getting there, but we should be done by tomorrow.
Portal master: ok.
He walks into the library and sees Ryder, Katie, and the pups.
Ryder (sad): I can't stop thinking about Jake, Everest, Carlos, tracker, Taylor, Rex, and the others.
Portal master: they're probability fine, wherever they are.
Zuma (sad): but it'd help if they were here too.
Portal master: Well, would you guys like to see my invention hall?
Rocky: You have a invention hall?
Portal master: yeah, you'll love it. Me and technology go together like pizza and parmesan cheese.
(he keep talking as they leave).
Spyro, who overheard the whole thing, then decides he and his Skylanders friends need to find their friends' friends, and quickly.
