TWO DAYS LATER

Turns out I was starting my new school faster than I expected, I didn't even get to learn the bus routes here yet, and my mother was already discussing plans with the headteacher.

It wasn't my first official day yet, thankfully. I started next week, and today, was just a day where she would show me around and let me know how to navigate myself around this huge ass school.

Upon searching the school up, I managed to deduce that it was quite a prestigious school - how my mother managed to get me a place in here? I am yet to know.

"So, Kang Haeun, is that correct?" She looked at the sheet of paper that stated my info. I nodded my head as she cleared her throat, "Nineteen, consistent good grades.."

She looked back up after scanning my paper a little more.

"You should have no problem adjusting here! All we need is a little tour around the campus, and you'll blend right in." She smiled brightly as I just gave her a nervous smile back.

My mother looked towards me, sparkles shining in her eyes.

"Amazing, is this going to happen today or..?" My mother inquired, the headteacher gave another light smile.

"Yes, today, if you don't mind - that is." She looked at Jieun for approval, and my mother just gave a smile.

"Of course, go for it, Haeun, I'll be waiting in the car." She stood up as we did too, and instead of following us, she walked towards the exit of the campus, going back to the car park.

So now it left me and the headteacher, in this huge ass school, alone.

The school alone felt as if it was about to engulf me, how the hell I was going to find my way to my classes was a mystery to me, but I suppose one day I'll find my way.

She led me through the campus grounds, then inside a section of the building. Students were still in classes, learning and whatnot, but as the clock grew closer to twelve, I guaranteed that this silence wouldn't persist in about five more minutes.

"This is the music department, we have quite a few talented young people here, some even play in rather popular bands." She pointed me to the hallways dotted with classrooms and music studios.

Damn, this school could afford all of this?

"The lunch bell will ring in about a minute, so I best guide you towards that area before we get swarmed by students." She gave a light chuckle, slowly leading me over to the cafeteria while still explaining what was what, and where to go from where.

The bell rang, and rumbling of students was heard from every direction, people were scattering down corridors and stairs, heading into the direction of the - what I assumed - was the cafeteria.

I was amazed by the grand capacity of the students in here, yes, I could tell the school was huge, but to hold this amount of students was beyond me. In my old school, it was a relatively average population of students in school.

This was just, crazy.

By the time we made it to the cafeteria, the hallways had settled down, and most people were sat in the cafeteria - eating or talking.

We walked into the actual place itself, and immediately, eyes were glued onto me. People were staring at me like none before, curious and amazed.

"Woaaah, new student." A guy said as I walked past, swallowing hard.

My heart thumped at my chest as the amount of eyes truly made me feel dizzy. Did we seriously have to do this now? We couldn't have just waited til this was after and visited the cafeteria later?

"New student mid term? That's so crazy. She's real pretty though." Another guy said as I passed by his table, people seriously had no manners with their eyes.

The amount of eye contact I made was insane.

"There's quite a handful of groups, I'm sure you'll find your way into one of them eventually." The headteacher tried to console me, and I just gave her an unsure smile, this woman was real fucking crazy to think I'd be able to befriend any of these groups.

I was already probably an outcast from joining a new school mid term.

"I'll introduce you to a lovely group of girls, really sweet people." The headteacher then proceeded to make matters worse for me, guiding me over to a table of girls.

They seemed nice, judging by how they looked, I assumed they wouldn't mean anything bad. Among their table, they shared one half with a group of guys, who all stared at me, aside from one.

The girls looked at me, waiting for me to speak.

"My name is Kang Haeun, sorry, I'm a little awkward, new school." I gave a nervous chuckle as they grinned brightly at me.

"Aw, you're cute. My name is Go-eun, she's Jihyun, Mina over there, and Yoojung." She introduced me to all of her friends who just gave me purehearted smiles.
