Without the nuisance of Niki bothering me, I finally managed my way back home, to where I finally could finish writing my letter to Riki.

I hoped he wasn't too mad over my late reply, even so, I doubt it because he's probably busy with his own band life.

I finished adding lyrics to the letter, and began to conclude the whole letter.

'here, added some more lyrics onto the previous ones!! let me know what you think!!

and also ugh i dont know im so indecisive

should i really go to that party? i mean the last one i went to was kind of lame, the same guy i told you about earlier was there and i guess he made it a bit better but im not sure

hes annoying and frustrates me

you think i should go or no?

yours sincerely

haeun :^)'

And as my usual process, I folded the letter, neatly placing it into an envelope and decorating the envelope.

Maybe I should start asking him more personal questions, because seriously, why do I know the most obscure facts about him, yet I don't even know what he looks like or how his voice sounds like.

It's sort of frustrating me.

Regardless, I placed the letter on my desk, giving a large sigh. I had absolutely nothing to do now.

TWO DAYS LATER

After coming back home from school, I was still in thought whether I should really attend the party. It was tomorrow, which meant I didn't have a lot of time to decide whether I was going or not.

"HAEUN!! YOUR STUPID PENPAL LETTER IS HERE!" Eunmi yelled my name from downstairs, and with such haste, I rushed down towards where Eunmi was.

She rolled her eyes, handing me the envelope with my name, neatly written on the front.

"I can't believe you haven't even met him in person yet, like, what if he's like seventy years old." Eunmi scoffed as my lip curled into a vexed frown.

What the hell was her problem?

"Yeah and you'll be seventy years old and still with live in your mother's house." I clapped back at her, to which she just went silent and walked off.

The day that woman gets a job will be the day I will fall to my knees, because what do you mean I won't be able to make anymore jobless jokes anymore?

I rushed upstairs, in such an eager manner just to open this letter and see what he's responded with. He replied rather quickly, I expected him to somewhat elongate his return back since I took so long, but no.

I sat at my desk, opening the envelope as carefully but as quickly as I could. The excitement flowing through my veins was unreal.

And finally, I slid the folded paper out, enthusiastically unfolding the paper. Inside, it read;

'dear haeun,

its okay for your super overdue letter, as long as i still get one back then im happy with that, more on this guy, you said hes attractive? how attractive are we talking? well built? tall? model material or what? you can't just be vague about this - do better smh

i know you said hes annoying but how exactly is he annoying? like in a way that he constantly bothers you all the time or what?

god now you have me all curious

regarding the party, id say you should go, it's not like it'll hurt you, besides, it might change your perception on parties from your area - who knows - you might even find someone who sparks your interest there ;)

i love your lyrics, you're my favourite part of the day

yours sincerely,

riki'

My cheeks hurt from how much I was smiling, I know penpals were quite old fashioned, and for someone of my age, it seemed a little weird, but this thing really brought me joy, and Riki himself was such an amazing person from what I know.

I chuckled, reading through the letter again, and then focusing on the last few parts.

Ugh, how I'd run across the country just to see this guy in person, I don't think I can hold my curiosity back any longer.

I didn't write back first, I had to let the girls know that I - infact - had changed my mind about the party.

haeun: guys. big news. im coming to niki's party

It didn't even take them less than five minutes to reply.

mina: WHAT

yoojung: dont tell me he swooned you over

go-eun: omg for real dont fall for it hes like every other guy ever

haeun: hear me out okay hear me out

haeun: you guys should come too, come on, it might be fuuuuunnn

go-eun: haeun if you're being so serious right now then ill come with you

haeun: I AM

And so it was settled, from none of us going, to me going, and then all of us going. I'm sure that this time, because I was with actual friends, the party would be much better.

As long as I avoided a person in particular, everything would be alright. It can't be that hard, can it?
