I hurried upstairs, changing and immediately noticing a new envelope on my desk. It had my name written on it, and a smile quickly formed itself on my lips.

I didn't even need to warm myself up anymore, this response back already did the job for me.

I sat down on my chair eagerly, neatly opening the envelope, trying to ensure I don't rip it up. Most of the letters I received from my penpal, I always stored, however, considering for how long we have been exchanging letters back and forth, I'd have containers full of letters.

So I isolated the ones that I loved the most, or the ones that I considered the most important ones.

I unfolded the letter, his handwriting made me smile, which is kind of sad if you think about it, but either way, I read the letter with a grin on my face.

'dear haeun,

you'll probably get this after your first day of school or something, i dont know, but anyways, how do i start this?

how was your first day? i hope it wasn't too bad, you'll probably fit in just right and judging from your previous letter, you already have made some friends

personally, my school life has been pretty interesting recently, dont know, it used to be pretty boring, but now it's not too bad, preparing for an underground show soon enough

It's crazy how I didn't even know how this guy looked, or how he sounded like, but solely through the letters he has sent me over the course of the years, I could just tell he was a fine ass guy.

I wondered when we'd finally maybe reveal a little more about ourselves, I didn't want to insist yet, until he mentioned something of it.

But whatever, I folded the letter back up, placing it in the envelope once more and sliding it into a compartment in my desk.

With a sigh, I was left with nothing to do, but out of nowhere, a ping from my phone finally made me busy.

To my surprise, I was added to a groupchat with the girls I had met. Oh okay? I didn't mind this at all.

mina: haeuuun!!!! welcome to our groupchat ^^

go-eun: youve officially made it into our clique girl

go-eun: we talk a lot of shit here

yoojung: like a LOT

haeun: ugh youve already sold me guys dont worry

I chuckled to my phone, wow, I had just abandoned my other friends and found a new clique of girls in such a short space of time - how the hell did that happen?

Regardless, we continued typing in the groupchat, and although I was supposed to write back to Riki, I became ultimately too consumed with the things the girls were saying to the point that I somehow forgot.

go-eun: hey but guys did you hear that niki is supposedly with Yejin?

I looked at my phone, who the fuck was Yejin?

mina: WHAAAAT no way

mina: tbh they suit eachother they're both insufferable as FUCK

haeun: guys who the hell is yejin

And not even a minute later, Go-eun sent a picture from Yejin's Instagram. I looked at the picture she sent, and honestly, I don't think I've seen a girl like her around Niki at all, matter of fact, I don't think I've seen her in school at all.

jihyun: really? i thought niki had a girlfriend from a different school

Oookay, what was with this guy? He's two timing or something? Because these claims are absolutely crazy, he's apparently with a girl from the school I'm in, and with another girl from elsewhere.

What a guy, collecting the girls like some prizes. (me next ppls)

mina: hey haeun youre no better i heard people are saying you have few boyfriends too

I widened my eyes at her texts, giving a slight laugh. Where the fuck were people pulling these rumours from? Fair enough, Niki, he's been in that school since the start so people must know what kind of guy he is.

But me? I've been here not even longer than a week and people are already thinking I'm some kind of fuckgirl.

After a while of talking to them, I found myself satisfied that I managed to assimilate into a new group, least I wasn't a loner, that would've been a little embarrassing.
