A WEEK LATER

I opened the letter that was addressed to me, from my one and only penpal, Riki. I gave a sigh, sliding the paper out and reading what was inside.

'dear haeun

what kind of girl you are? at first i thought you were a quiet, smart girl who minds her own business and doesn't interfere with guys or things like that, but i feel that i am wrong and instead you're much more than that

maybe something along the lines of, interesting and bold, conceited? perhaps. either way, im fascinated by you, you're quite the girl

you also asked if you seem like the kind of girl, and i quote, "to have no issue with kissing a guy and then pretending to like his best friend?"

to that i say, yeah, you do seem like the kind of girl to do something like that, and judging by how specific that was, i assume you've already done something like that

how interesting

yours sincerely,

riki'

I could not push the smile away from my face as I read the letter, it oddly resembled someone I know, with how mysterious and annoyingly teasing the letter was structured.

I closed the letter, leaving it on my desk and checking my phone for the time.

Sunghoon had invited me to their little performance at some venue, and the time was nearing for me to leave.

Niki had no idea, I guess it was like a little surprise for him - surely he wouldn't mind. After all, I've heard from too many people that his band is amazing, so why can't I listen to it myself?

With that being said, I fixed my hair hurriedly, grabbing my bag and rushing out of my room. I had to get there before everybody else did, because that would suck if I was stuck somewhere far away from them.

I took a taxi there, and upon entry to the venue, I already saw a line queuing up to enter. Defeated, I let out a sigh, pressing the space between my brows.

Damn, looks like no good seats for me.

It was a rather small venue, and I wasn't quite sure how they were exactly going to fit the continuously growing line all in here.

Surely they'd have to cut off a few people.

After quite a long wait, I made it inside, and I tried my best to find a good spot to sit down in, but unfortunately, people already took up the better seats.

I wasn't too far away from the stage, which was good, but again, wasn't too close either.

I waited, and waited, and finally, the guys came out, people began cheering, pulling out their phones to record. I just wanted to hear the lyrics for sure, was it really the ones I had sent my penpal, and if so, how the hell did they end up here?

Impatiently, I tapped my leg as they introduced themselves and all of that kind of stuff, finally, they began playing.

Sure, I'll give them that, they've got good stage presence, and I loved how they played. One person in particular, Niki with that guitar of his.

Ugh, literally kiss me. (and bite me)

I listened intently, trying to not get distracted by how Niki looked, like a fucking beautiful ass rockstar, holding his guitar like that, his dark outfit and his hair.

And throughout the song, I honestly caught on that it was my lyrics. The exact lyrics I had sent to my penpal, Riki. Funny, I thought. It was a strange thing to occur, and I wasn't exactly sure what to get from this.

Did my penpal share the lyrics I sent with other people? Or what? I had no idea, and I was pretty much confused, albeit my utter disarray, I stayed seated, just waiting for the show to end so I could ask how they made such lyrics.

Jesus, what the hell is really going on.

They played a few more songs, and on the very last song, I noticed the same pattern again - the exact same lyrics I exchanged with my penpal, Riki.

Something really didn't add up over here.

The show ended, and I stood up, walking over to the front, or trying at least. A guard stopped me from walking too close towards the stage, but fortunately for me, that caught the attention of a few of the guys.

I glanced over at Niki, who just stared at me, his eyes widening slightly and quickly hurrying off the stage and towards the back.

Sunghoon smiled at me, waving and stepping down from the stage to let me through towards the backstage since the guard wasn't letting me through.

"You made it, I thought you didn't come." Sunghoon chuckled, leading me into the backstage where the guys were.

I was searching for one person in particular, but he was nowhere to be seen. How the hell did he disappear so quickly?

"As if I wouldn't come, heard too much about you guys to not come." I still looked around, trying to be discreet with who I was looking for.
