The two of us sat back in the car, and Niki turned his face to look at me, observing my features for a second before speaking.
"I'm guessing you wanna go home now?" Niki asked, and I just looked over at him, nodding my head.
"Yeah, unless you know anything better to do at three in the morning." I yawned, leaning my head on the window as he began to drive off.
"Well." Niki gave a suggestive chuckle, and I just glared at him.
The drive was quite peaceful, and then I finally clocked again, why I chose to let him drop me off.
"Niki." I said his name, softly, and he gave a gentle hum, "How come you won't let me near Sunghoon, or any of your friends for that matter."
There was a moment of silence between the two of us, and he was thinking carefully about his word choice here.
"I don't trust you." Niki randomly blurt out, and I shot my head to look at him, crossing my brows together in confusion and looking at him, insulted.
"You don't trust me? What the hell." I gave a scoff, shaking my head as his lips arched faintly into a smirk.
"Don't even try with any of my friends, I'll tell you now, it won't work out." Niki added, his voice having a rather callous tone to it.
"You wanna bet?" I raised a brow, looking over at him as he stopped at a red light. He turned his head to me, the same smirk that situated on my face, replicated on his face too.
"Winner gets what?" Niki's voice was deep, and I felt as if I was making a deal with the devil himself. But my ego was too high to back out now, so, I continued with it.
"Mmm, let me think." I looked out the window, what could the winner possibly get out of this?
I turned back to him, clueless.
"I don't know, what do you think?" I asked him instead, and he just gave a scoff.
"I suppose we can figure it out along the way, but, a bet is a bet Haeun, are you sure you'll be able to keep your side of the bet?" Niki raised a brow, as if he was doubting my abilities.
I'm stubborn, and hard-headed as fuck, so if he thinks that I'm going to back out now - he's very wrong.
Besides, Sunghoon already is into me, so it couldn't be that hard.
"Niki, look at me in the eyes." I told him, and he did as I said, the two of us had a fixed stare, his eyes deep into mine, mine sunken into his, "I'm not losing this bet."
Niki turned to face the front again, giving a small laugh.
"We'll see Haeun, we'll see." Niki had the final word before he pulled up to the side of my house, dropping me off and waiting for me to head inside.
It was nearing four in the morning, and my mother wouldn't be impressed with how late I came home, but what could she really do now? At least I was home.
As I turned around to close the door behind me, I glanced at Niki's face through his tinted windows, barely visible, but I could recognise that face of his anyday.
With that, he sped off, the roaring of his engine gradually decreasing the further he got. I leant against the door, closing my eyes and giving a quick exhale.
Now that I'm home and away from his annoying ass, I started to reconsider my whole life and whether this was a good idea.
Sunghoon was a cute guy, and no doubt he was pretty - but I had no feelings for him, and I don't really like playing with people's emotions.
Well, considering I have a bet to win, there's no point of backing out now, all I could possibly do was suck it up and let Niki watch me win.
With nothing left to do, I head upstairs, throwing myself on the seat before my desk and grabbing a piece of paper, sure, I was a little tipsy, but I could still from legible sentences.
I began writing.
'to riki
the guy you asked about? unfortunately he's good looking, well built, all of the things you asked below, really sucks, i know. i ended up going to the party like you said, and to be honest, it was pretty fun

I put the pen down, sealing it in the envelope and leaving it on my desk for tomorrow. I'll continue writing the letter some day later.
