Chapter 17- Flames

Y/N POV:

~time skip to morning~

As you laid in bed, your eyes stared at the ceiling and felt heavy. No matter how hard you tried to get some rest, your mind didn't let you.

Why does my mind want to torture me?

You got up and took a shower, turning the water on it felt like you were being impaled by icicles.

Ahhh ah cold cold fuck that's cold. Of course it is.

You rushed to turn off the water. Once it was off a shiver rolled down your back and you felt more alert.

Well at least I feel more awake I guess

"Fuck you"  you mumbled and kicked the shower pipe in anger.

You stepped out and got ready for work.

Alastors POV:

I'm gonna ask her on a date. I'm liking her a lot more and I wish to have a future with her together. I enjoy her company so much.

What if she doesn't feel the same?
Then we could stay friends!
But will it ever be the same?

Why am I anxious?

I was on my way to the cafe and peered into the window. I saw her sitting on a chair with her head on the table.

Is she okay?

I entered.

Dingggg~

The door bell chimed above me and she looked up. I could see the dark circles under her eyes which she tried to cover with makeup but didn't do a great job. She gave me a weak smile and got up to proceed to make my usual drink. I stopped her.

"Sit down chère, is everything okay?" I lead her back to the chair and held her hand to comfort her.

"No, I'm exhausted and I didn't get a single second of sleep and to make things worse my shower water was freezing" She replied with a yawn.

"Why didn't you sleep?" I asked concernedly.

"There were these men and they stopped to ask me questions and don't worry, nothing hapoened. My mind just wouldn't stop scaring me with thought of what COULD'VE happened. Ugh." She huffed.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there, I would've made sure they never bothered anyone again..." my tone was darkened but then went back to normal. "...surely you can't be expected to work a full day on zero hours of sleep? I'm sure William would understand. Let's get you back to your apartment."

"Nooooo *yawn* I can'tttt I need to pay off a bunch of stuff." She mumbled and leaned her head on her hand.

"Oh don't worry about that, how much do you need? It's my fault you're not up to date with payments anyway!" She slightly pouted and shook her head 'no'. But I insisted.

She sighed quickly and stood up, pushing her chair back . "Okay lemme leave a note to William..." she trodded over behind the counter and knelt down and bought back a pencil and paper. She tiredly shuffled her chair back into place, sat down, picked up the pencil and began to write.
