Chapter 50- Stranger

Y/N POV:

~time skip~

You drove as far as you could, the forest was dense and the car was struggling to move over the jagged, uneven terrain.

You couldn't go any further so you followed the scraped trees on foot.

Alastors POV:

I kept hearing my name being called when no one was there, my head pounded and my body was shaky and feeble.

I hate this, I hate not having control.

My vision was unfocused and blurry and I saw a figure of a man approaching me. I tightened my eyes trying to focus but it was impossible, it was like I lost my sight.

It came closer and closer to me calling out my name.

It was right infront of me and leaned down.
"Go A-Away" I pushed it back and it held my wrist tight.

"Stop it Alastor! It's me, y/n. I have a car." She explained and held my hand gently.

"How?" I coughed barely able to get the word out.

"Shh it's okay, save your breaths just focus on moving for me."

~time skip~

I leaned some of my upper weight onto y/n as she lifted me up.
My footsteps were heavy and any movement my body made ached in anguish, my breathing was broken and raspy.

"It's only a little walk now, it won't take long." She reassured me and held me close guiding me to the car.

"I'm sorry that I'm weak" I stuttered.

"You are so strong Alastor, I couldn't do what you're doing right now. So don't ever think you are weak, in fact this is the strongest I've seen you. Nobody would be dealing with this as well as you are right now." She replied and it comforted me a little bit.

I sniffled and saw a glimmer of black metal through the trees.

"It's there, just a little further and you can rest"

~small time skip~

We made it to the vehicle and y/n helped me lay down in the back seats. The car smelt of burnt cigars but I didn't care, right now this is the comfiest I have been in weeks.

The car rattled and shook as she drove my head felt tight and parts of my body were numb from the blood loss. My eyes were heavy and for some time I was drifting in and out of sleep but I eventually dozed off.

~hour time skip~

My eyes slowly opened and I gazed up at y/n, she was focused and looked worried. My smile returned as I admired her, I didn't notice before that she was wearing black trousers, cream top and a brownish blazer.

"Y/n, why are you dressed like that?" My voice was raspy and trembly.

She gasped and turned to look down at me.

"You're awake! Good, I think we are close to your house. I recognize this area, can you help me?"

I leaned up slightly and she was correct, we were close.

"Go over there, then just follow the stone path." I sighed and collapsed back down.

The car started to bump up and down and jolted forward at some parts.

"Chère, do you know how to drive?!" The realization hit me.

"Umm kinda?" The car stuttered forwards again.

"It shows" I snickered.

"Hey! That's not very nice!"

"...sorry" I mumbled and glanced out the window, my gates were forced open and my house looked barren and dark.

~time skip~

Y/n assisted me up the stairs and into our bedroom, laying me down on my bed. I let out a relieved sigh and wore a genuine smile. My bed was so soft, warm, serene and I just wanted to curl up and stay in it forever.

Y/n sat on the edge of the bed next to me, holding my hand. She was trembling slightly, she was trying to stay optimistic...for me.
