"Again. Ced, they told you there are going to be creatures and spells to break if you can't break my weak jinxes you're not going to win."
"I'm tired Scar, we've been at this for days now." Ced groaned as he sat on a rock feeling his leg muscles ache as he took his weight off them. It was 5pm, close approaching dinner time and the two had missed lunch.
"Cedric, you only have a few more weeks till the final task. I wouldn't be so harsh with you if you hadn't slacked off for the last few months."
"You mean enjoying my victory with my friends and new girlfriend."
"Yes, you should have been focusing on the next task, you haven't won yet. I know dad is treating you like you have but you need to come first in the final task to actually be the champion. Now, get up and do it again or do I have to remind you how you barely got away with your life when you were faced with a dragon. Who knows what creatures are going to be in the maze when you get there."
"Fine. You're right." Cedric reluctantly replied. He stood up pushing through the soreness running through his legs as the weight of his body returned to them.
Now that victory was so close within Cedrics reach Scarlett was desperate for it. She wanted him to win, she knew he could and she would do everything in her power to make sure he did. They duelled, she set traps, she transfigured rocks into creatures, she even transfigured into her bird form and pecked at him. They were both exhausted by the time Andrew came over to them "It's nearly time for dinner you two. Scar, let the boy have dinner. I'm pretty sure you need to eat too."
Scarlett looked at the time and realised it was 7:30pm, now that she was stood still she felt the hunger set in and her body ache from the exercise but swallowed the pain down "We can go but I definitely think we should practice a bit more after dinner."
"How about I just read up on different creatures weaknesses and you can test me in the morning. Practice with my brain for a bit." Cedric replied feeling sore from the running, jumping, dodging and duelling.
Scarlett was tired too, so accepted the compromise "Fine, but you better study. Not go to the library with Cho and spend the whole time kissing." her tone was stern. She'd walked in on their snogging sessions in the library too many times to not know his tricks. "In fact, to make sure you don't, I'm going to be there too. Making sure no funny business is happening."
"Damn Scar, you might be worse than Snape." Andrew commented surprised at this new side of her
"Thank you! Finally, someone else sees how insanely harsh she is. You didn't believe me at the beginning of the week but see, she's so strict." Cedric exclaimed victoriously that he finally had a witness to Scarlett's bossiness.
They got to the castle and Scarlett was greeted by George who was waiting for her to come back from their hidden practice area. She ran towards him with a smile on her face as Andrew and Cedric moaned about what a drill sergeant she had been but how nice and sweet she became when George was around.
"How was training love?" George asked as he pulled her into a hug
"It was okay. Ced needs to perfect a few things but he's doing good." Scarlett replied after giving him a kiss on the cheek, taking in his cinnamon scent.
"Was that a compliment of my skills I just heard? From Scarlett Diggory, my twin sister? Is she finally back?" Cedric mocked
"Don't be fooled Ced, the evil is still hiding behind that innocent face. Don't get too close or she'll make you practice you're dodges." Andrew joined in.
George looked at them confused unaware of what they were talking about while Scarlett turned around and gave them a death glare.
"Don't get Scarlett to help train you for anything George. You know how harsh Snape is..." Cedric began.
