Chapter 22

Scarlett was sleeping peacefully in her room that she now shared with Ginny and Hermione. Hermione had joined them a few days after the Weasley and Diggory clan had settled in. Hermione and Ginny had already woken up and were on their way to get breakfast when they bumped into Fred and George

"Where's Letty?" George asked

"She's still asleep, we didn't want to disturb her. She doesn't sleep well so when she's peaceful we like to leave her." Ginny replied

"Don't disturb her. She needs her rest." Hermione instructed them sternly.

Fred and George looked at each other debating whether they would accept the order they had been given. It was almost instinct to do the opposite of what they were told to do but in this case they had to admit Hermione was right so nodded in acceptance before walking back to their room.

"You okay there Georgie? You look concerned." Fred asked his brother as he saw the worry painted on his twins face.

"I'm just thinking about Scarlett. I just wish there was something I could do, something to help her through the pain."

"You're there for her and that's all you can do. For someone going through so much pain she truly does hide it well. It's hard to believe she used to be the shy mysterious twin of Cedric."

"She really does but then again she's only really been with people that she was getting to know before. I'm more worried about how she's going to be when we go back to school."

"She's got us now and if anyone tries anything you can take her away while I teach them a lesson."

"It's nice you and Letty are getting closer."

"I never had a problem with her, she was just a bit too tame for me to bother getting to know. But now I've hung out with her more, she's not as tame as I thought. In fact she's got a fire in her that you can't help but be drawn to."

George smiled, unable to hide how happy he was his brother was finally seeing what he had seen in Scarlett so long ago. The boys went back to chit chatting about pranks and plans about their joke shop when 'pop'

"Good morning boys." Scarlett greeted as she apparated into their room making them jump

"Good morning little bird" George said as he hugged her and kissed her on the cheek.

"Do not call him a gingerbread man or I will puke" Fred interjected before Scarlett said anything

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Scarlett mocked

"I'm not in a bad mood, I just find your nicknames cringey."

"Little bird isn't cringey, in fact it makes perfect sense, her Animagus is a bird." George protested

"Fine, yours is acceptable but come on Scar, gingerbread man? Come up with something less gross."

"Fine would you prefer the greatest prankster in history or funniest guy in Hogwarts?" Scarlett mocked

"I know you're joking but damn, what a way to hurt a guys feelings." Fred pouted

"Sorry Fred but you did call me cringey so I had to retaliate." Scarlett shrugged as she got up to leave the room "You guys had some breakfast yet?" she asked before opening the door

"George forced us to wait till you were up to go."

Scarlett smiled and kissed George's cheek "You're the best." 

"Do I get no credit for waiting also?" Fred asked pretending to be upset at the lack of acknowledgment.

"I'm starting to think Letty was right Freddie, you did wake up on the wrong side of the bed you're being so whiny." George commented chuckling under his breath
