Chapter 4

Why was it always so easy with Felix when things were so complicated?

Lee Know didn't know where Felix was, and Felix had been gone for ten minutes saying he needed to wash his hands. Lee Know was jst a tiny bit on edge. Not much. When Felix came back Lee Know took a sigh of relief. Ok, maybe he was a lot on edge. But Lee Know felt like he was getting a little too protective.

Lee Know was about to ask Felix if he was ok until Han grabbed his arm. Lee Know's eyes widened and he cleared his throat, "What?" Han said looking at his phone, "Oh my God, that new movie came out! You and Felix are absolutely going with me."

Lee Know could have sworn he saw question marks in his head.

Felix walked to them looking serious, which was unusual. Before he could say anything Han shook him excitedly "The new Secrets movie came out! The three of us can go watch it together! It could be like a kids of the family thing!" (A/N: Just made up a movie name) Felix's expression morphed into excitement as he jumped, "Naur! Really?"

Lee Know rolled his eyes. Classic maknae.

AFTER SCHOOL

Hyunjin was standing in the garden awkwardly, feeling out of place among all the other students with their friends. Hyunjin pondered why he listened to Felix, or both metaphorically and literally let him in. Would Lee Know and Han be ok with him meeting Felix? Felix was a ray of sunshine in Hyunjin's life, and Hyunjin wanted to be a little selfish and keep that light. Hyunjin had been in the dark too long.

Meanwhile,

Changbin and IN were trying to convince Seungmin to come over for a sleepover. Seungmin smirked and said, "I would come to the sleepover if you convince Bang Chan to tag along."

IN and Binnie stared at Seungmin. Binnie said "Who?" Seungmin gasped, "You two don't know him? He's my classmate and quiet friend."

IN raised his brows "So, he only talks if you ask him to, that would be boring. We want you to come, not some stranger."

Changbin frowned, "If Seungmin trusts him so do I." IN rolls his eyes, "Now I have to invite Bang Chan as well." Changbin said, "What is he like?"

Seungmin smirked and replied, "Old."

Meanwhile also,

Felix rushed to his lockers, eager to meet Hyunjin. But he had to get rid of Lee Know and Han on his tail as well. Felix was deep in thought when Han screamed in his ear, and Felix jumped hitting his head on the top...

Han said, "How did you jump so high that you hit your head on the top of your locker?" Felix rubbed at his head and said, "I am a cat."

Han gasped, "So that's why he loves cats!" Felix laughed. Lee Know said appearing out of nowhere, "I would love to have some cats. But right now I want pudding." Han jumped, "You were right behind me this whole time?" Lee Know muttered, "I always am."

Han turned to Lee Know, "What?" Lee Know shook his head, "You two coming with me to that cafeteria at 7th Street?"

Han cheered, "Yes!" Felix smiled and said, "Oh uh, you two go, I have some work to do." Lee Know frowned, "What work?" Felix said acting stern, "You don't need to know everything." Before Lee Know could reply, Felix quickly walked away thinking, "Sorry brother, I have to help someone all three of us care about."

Hyunjin was losing his patience. He was about to leave thinking Felix forgot or got caught up with something... Most likely forgot.... But Felix came running before Hyunjin could leave.

Felix skidded to a stop on the ground, his jeans getting dust all over them, looking under the bunch Hyunjin was sitting on. Hyunjin blinked staring at Felix on the ground in front of him in confusion. Felix moved both of Hyunjin's legs apart and dug under the bench.

Hyunjin gulped. Was Felix trying to kill him?

Felix quickly got up and gave the card he made for Hyunjin, along with a small box. Hyunjin hesitantly took both of them. Felix said, "Read the card when you get home or something. I have to go now because I didn't give a good excuse to-" Felix paused and Hyunjin looked at him. Felix continued, "I hope we can be friends again. Han shouldn't be mad at you anymore. He still considers you his brother ok?"

Hyunjin gulped blinking back the tears. Hyunjin was Han's older brother but Han always made Hyunjin feel safe. Hyunjin missed him so much. Hyunjin was somewhat glad that Han left, their dad was always drunk or at work anyways. So, there was nothing left for Han at home... except maybe Hyunjin.

By the time Hyunjin looked up to say thank you, Felix was already gone.

Hyunjin reached home and opened his card. It read-

"Dear Hyunjin, I know things have been really hard and complicated this past year. But I am sick of pretending everything is ok and trying to keep everyone happy when they are so sad. Han misses you. And whether he admits it or not, Lee Know misses you too. We used to be cheerful and happy, all of us together. IN and Binnie made a new friend, Seungmin. Can't all seven of us hang out? I know I sound like a jerk but, I want to be friends again Hyunjin.
-Felix."

Hyunjin's face was expressionless when he stopped reading the letter. To be fair, there wasn't anything keeping them from being friends again, so it made sense right? Han and Lee Know probably hated him, but Hyunjin didn't want to turn Felix away. Hyunjin was craving attention. Hyunjin hated himself for it, because he knew he would end up hurting Felix too.

Hyunjin opened the small box Felix gave him with the card. It had two rings in it. Hyunjin smiled.

Nothing would keep them from being friends again.
