Chapter 38

Lee Know smiled. Everything was ok.

The door opened and the two chaotic sunshine twins walked in, bickering with each other. They were always bickering for some reason or another.

Felix looked at Hyunjin and smiled, hopping on top of him giving a big hug. Hyunjin said, "Oof- You look excited."

Felix smiled and shook Hyunjin saying, "Yes! You won't believe it, Bang Chan told me that I.N and Changbin are dating!" Hyunjin's eyes widened, "I thought they hated each other?"

Han scoffed, "Please, they've been in love with each other long before all of us or even Seungie and Chan became a couple. They're just very slow."

Lee Know cringed, "I would hate to listen to their love story, slow burns make me mad."

Hyunjin scrunched up his nose, "Honestly, slow burn romance annoys me too." Felix pouted, "Isn't our story sort of a slow burn too?" Hyunjin frowned, "I dunno."

Felix whispered, "Doesn't matter, you are mine now, and you aren't going anywhere." Hyunjin gulped, his eyes wide with anticipation, "You always know how to get me on edge, don't you?"

Felix giggled, "On edge of a cliff or just edge you?" Hyunjin's cheeks burned, "Nevermind, I take it back, you are not an angel. You are a devil." Felix pouted and said, "We have a date today, should I cancel it?"

Hyunjin gasped dramatically, "No please, I've been preparing for it for ages!" Felix laughed, "Ok baby."

Han said, "Are you two coming to the graduation ceremony this weekend?" Hyunjin nodded, "Too bad we don't have prom. It sounded kinda cool."

Lee Know blurted out, "Me and Han got accepted in that University in England."

Everyone went silent. Han hit Lee Know on the shoulder, "I thought we were going to tell them at the graduation party?" Lee Know smiled sheepishly.

Hyunjin blinked and said sternly, "You better take care of Han or I will fly to England and beat you up." Felix said, "If I had known you look so hot when mad I would have tried to piss you off more often."

Han and Lee Know broke out in laughter while Hyunjin got flustered. "It's so easy to tease you." Felix said. Hyunjin scoffed, "It's time for our date."

Time skip,

Hyunjin was driving, and Felix was restless in his seat. The red convertible car drove smoothly over a bridge, and Felix smiled watching the calm river below sparkle gold and silver under the sunset. The clouds were pink, orange and purple, and the atmosphere was cool. The weather couldn't be better.

Hyunjin spoke up, "Are you ok with heights?"

Felix shrugged, "As long as I am not standing on an edge or a glass bridge."

Hyunjin snorted, "You've been on a glass bridge."

"Yeah, mom, dad, Minho hyung, Han, and I went there last summer. Han threw up and Lee Know clung to me like a kitten." Felix said and Hyunjin laughed.

Hyunjin said out of nowhere, "I hate bugs, but I'm ok with spiders." A couple years ago, when you were eating snacks in the kitchen, we saw a spider in the living room. Han and Lee Know were screaming. Especially after I picked the spider up."

Felix cringed, "How do you handle eight legs over six?"

Hyunjin shrugged, "At least spiders don't fly. And their homes are easy to spot."

"Touché." Felix replied. After a bit of thinking, Felix spoke up again, "Why are we going away from the city instead of where the shopping places are?"

"Because Lixie, this date is different." Hyunjin replied. "It'll probably feel like being a Disney princess." Hyunjin mumbled the other part to himself.

The car stopped near a small abandoned park with nothing but tall trees surrounding it. Felix chuckled, "You planning to take me to a secluded area and kill me?"

Hyunjin smiled and held Felix's hand, "Maybe."

Felix gasped and hit Hyunjin's shoulder playfully. Hyunjin groaned, "Look who's trying to kill now."

Felix rolled his eyes, "You are so dramatic."

Hyunjin took Felix towards the back of the park, near a wall of vines, hanging from the top like a curtain. Hyunjin said, "Ready?"

Felix scrunched his eyebrows in confusion, "What do y-" Felix yelped as Hyunjin gently pushed the vines aside, revealing a trail behind.

Felix looked at the pathway curiously, "Have you been here before? Is this a forest?"

Hyunjin smiled, "Yes, and not a forest. Just lots of trees."

"Isn't that what a forest is, lots of trees?" Felix asked skeptically.

Hyunjin said, "Too small to be a forest."

Felix nodded and went to say something but got cut off as Hyunjin pulled him through, following the trail.  Felix whisper-yelled, 'Hyunjinah!' even though they were alone.

After a moment, Hyunjin came to a stop and turned Felix around. Felix felt his breath get knocked out of him.

There was a pond, sparkling more silver than gold because it was almost nighttime. The grass was tall and slightly wet, and wherever you stepped, fireflies would fly around. There were three swans swimming in the pond. Felix stepped forward, across the small pond, were lots of trees, and he could make out an owl sitting far away. Felix looked behind him, where they came from, stone walls and plants, and a big tree.

Felix's eyes watered and he hugged Hyunjin. He felt so happy. So peaceful.  Hyunjin looked through the small sling bag he had, then put a blanket on the ground.

"Come sit, the moon is coming out." Hyunjin said and Felix sat down with him, cuddling close. They sat silently, cuddling with each other and observing their surroundings. The stars were out, and Felix could make out a constellation.

They talked for what felt like hours. Hyunjin randomly kissing Felix on his head in their conversation. Sometimes a peck on his jaw, and if Hyunjin wanted Felix to talk about something else, a kiss on his lips. Felix was very flustered, cuddling closer he mumbled, "Hyunie, Lee Know Hyung and Han got accepted to Uni in England. What are we gonna do?"

Hyunjin huffed, "I didn't even know they applied there, I applied in America." Felix said, "I applied in Australia."

Hyunjin frowned, "We should have discussed stuff, but I guess I chose any option that isn't here in Korea." Felix gulped, "I don't think I want to study in a different continent than you."

Hyunjin cringed internally, he couldn't even imagine that possibility. Hyunjin said, "Where did you apply in Australia, I may have applied there as well."

"I thought you-" Felix was about to ask when Hyunjin spoke, "Yeah, I applied to a tonne of different countries."

Felix said, "Well, I hope we don't get separated." Hyunjin hummed in response and said, "Nothing can do that now."
