Chapter 7

His father drove faster.

The car stopped. A loud thud was heard. Hyunjin was frozen in his seat with shock. His eyes met another pair of panickeed eyes. Lee Know immediately went to the ground looking at Han, an ambulance already called.

Lee Know looked so scared. Suddenly, the night felt darker and Hyunjin heard his father chuckle. Hyunjin shuddered. His father had gone insane.

Hyunjin's father backed up the car ignoring everything going on outside to drive away. Hyunjin panicked. His brother was on the street bleeding out, and his dad was just going to drive away?

Before the car could pick up speed, Hyunjin jumped out of the car.

His smartest decision today (not really, but Han needed him... Or at least Hyunjin needed to see him).

His dad drove away. Hyunjin ran towards Han and Lee Know.

Lee Know was holding Han's hand and whispering for him to stay awake.

"Jisung, I need you to stay awake a little longer ok? The ambulance will be here soon. Just look at me. Tell me what colour my eyes are." Lee Know said looking a lot calmer than he was feeling.

Hyunjin crouched down next to them, unsure what to say. This wasn't how he wanted to meet them.

Lee Know looked up and only then did Hyunjin realise, Lee Know was crying.

Lee Know scowled at Hyunjin and slapped Hyunjin. Hyunjin fell to the side shrinking as Lee Know said, "This is your fault." Hyunjin's breath caught. "If anything happens to Han, I will never forgive you."

Hyunjin wanted to protest, to say that it was his father's fault, but he couldn't utter a single word.

The ambulance arrived.

- Time Skip -

Lee Know wanted to call Felix, anyone, but he couldn't find his phone. He was way too much in panic to make any other decision but sit outside the room they were working on Han. Lee Know had never cried in front of someone, except for that one time he told Hyunjin goodbye a year ago.

At first, Lee Know left Hyunjin put of fear, now it was fueled by hatred.

Lee Know knew he wasn't in his right mind, so he just sat there and breathed.

Hyunjin was in a nearby dark empty hallway, sitting on the floor with his back to the wall and hugging his knees. He couldn't get Lee Know's voice out of his head. Lee Know already disliked Hyunjin, and now he hated him. Han was holding on to his life by a thread, and their father ran away.

Hyunjin couldn't leave his father, but he didn't want to stay with him either. He wanted to be with his brother, but he couldn't do that either because he was happy with Lee Know and his family. And Lee Know hated him. Hyunjin's chest hurt and he couldn't breathe. Hyunjin's eyes watered and he pulled out his phone to talk to the only person who wouldn't hurt him...

Or at least he hoped so.

Sunflower:

Hey Felix

Felix?

U there?

Help

Sunshine:

Hey Hyunjinnie

I'm doing homework, did you need something?

Sunflower:

Han is in the hospital

A car crashed into him

Please come

I think Lee Know hates me

Sunshine:

Oh God

I'm coming

Hyunjin sighed. Han was Felix's best friend. So obviously Felix was mucch more panicked than his texts made it out to be. But the fact that Felix still managed to sound calm helped Hyunjin's nerves. He took a deep breath trying not to cry.

He didn't want Jisung to die.

Meanwhile,

Felix was definitely panicking. He should have tagged along with Lee Know and Han. Why hadn't Lee Know called him about the accident? Was he in shock? His vision got blurr with tears and he stopped the car.

"Don't want anyone else getting into an accident." Felix thought with a humourless chuckle.

He reached the hospital to find Lee Know blankly staring at a wall. Yup, he was in shock.

Felix went to him and gently hugged him. Lee Know breathed and hugged back a little. Felix looked up at Lee Know, "Where's Hyunjin?" Felix decided not to mention Han yet.

Lee Know scowled and said, "Hyunjin's the reason Han is in there."

Felix frowned, "Can't be, he loves Han too much for that." Lee Know chuckled, "No, he doesn't."

Hyunjin stood up from where he was and walked back where Lee Know was. He sighed in relief as he saw Felix with him. Hyunjin's heart clenched as he saw tears in Felix's eyes. Hyunjin walked towards them quietly, not knowing what to say.

Did he look weird? He was still in his formal attire.

"Hey." Hyunjin said.

Felix turned around with a glare, "Is it true? Was it your car?" Hyunjin almost trembled, Felix with angry eyes was terrifying. Hyunjin whispered, "My dad was driving." Felix froze but Lee Know got up quickly and shouted, "So, you didn't see us in front of you? You couldn't tell your old man to slow down?"

"He didn't listen." Hyunjin said trying not to feel scared. He was already in a panic zone because of his father, then Han, and now Lee Know.

Lee Know just stood there as Hyunjin quietly asked if Han was ok. Before Felix could say anything a security guard showed up. He said, "Is everything ok here?"

(A/N: Lee Know looked like he was going to start a fight with Hyunjin so the guard stepped in.)

Lee Know said, "My brother is in there fighting for his life and this jerk wouldn't leave."

Felix's eyes widened and Hyunjin said, "I am not going to leave." Lee Know said, "He doesn't even know Han."

"I do! He's my brother!"

"Please take him away, he's stressing me out. It won't be good for Han to meet him."

"What? No!" Hyunjin said looking panicked as the guards dragged him out. He kicked and screamed from them to let him go.

Lee Know was crying again.

But now he wasn't crying because of Han. Now he was crying because he knew it wasn't Hyunjin's fault, and he got him kicked out.

Hyunjin and Han's father's warning was ringing in his ears, "If you or anyone in your family, lets my son, Hyunjin near you, or near Han, I will get Felix killed. For the sake of your youngest child, stay away from my eldest."
