Chapter 22

"Can you... Is it too late to ask for help?" Hyunjin whispered, tears covering his delicate cheeks. Lee Know immediately stood up, walking outside as he wore his jacket, took his keys and put on his shoes.

"I'm coming Jinnie. Just hold on for a little while more." Lee Know said. Hyunjin said, "Is Felix ok?" Lee Know nodded with a frown, forgetting Hyunjin couldn't see him as he started the car. Hyunjin took that as a no.

Hyunjin tried to get up from where he was laying on the floor, but he yelped falling back down as he felt a sharp pain shoot up his back and to his head. Hyunjin lay on the floor breathing heavily as his ears rung.

He heard a voice whisper to him, for a moment he wondered if it was Felix. Maybe Felix did come to meet him after all. Maybe Felix doesn't hate him.

Hyunjin was proved wrong when he gained his focus back and heard Lee Know's concerned voice over the phone, "Hyunjin-ah, don't worry. I'm almost there."

Hyunjin whimpered and tried not to cry saying, "I can't get up. Hurts. Hurts. Lee Know... help. Please. Please don't leave me. Help. Hurts. Oh my God it hurts!" Hyunjin started to panic, breathing heavily. Maybe Lee Know would leave because of the weather warning. It was becoming cloudy. And cold. So cold. Hyunjin shivered feeling himself start to freeze. It made his head hurt more.

Lee Know said softly, trying not to sound panicked himself, "I'm coming. Don't worry, I'm not leaving. I promise."

Lee Know parked the car and froze for a second. He made a promise. Hyunjin's father could be dealt with later. His Hyunjinnie needed help.

Lee Know ran towards their big gardens, already knowing his way into Hyunjin's room through the window. Lee Know had snuck into Hyunjin's room before, when they used to be close. Lee Know never knew that their situation would become so serious. Lee Know quickly climed up the ladder-like pipes and got into his room.

Lee Know hurriedly walked to the other side of the bed seeing blood. Lee Know tried not to cry as he saw Hyunjin flinch and move away from him in fear.

"Ya, it's me, I'm here. Calm." Lee Know said and Hyunjin smiled. Hyunjin said, "You took a while." Lee Know let out a small sob, already getting the first aid kit. He laid Hyunjin on his bed, with Hyunjin barely being able to not make any noise. Lee Know cleaned the wound on Hyunjin's head and put a bandage on it. After that he helped Hyunjin drink some pain killers.

Lee Know thought of taking Hyunjin his home. But Lee Know knew that would overwhelm Hyunjin. Lee Know closed his eyes. If he decided to stay here, he would be able to protect Hyunjin and not get Felix in trouble. That means having to deal with Hyunjin's father. Stuck here for two days. Then Lee Know opened his eyes, getting an idea.

Yes, Lee Know saw a lightbulb light up in his head.

Next morning,

Hyunjin was still asleep, oblivious to the glares being exchanged in between his father and Lee Know. His father said, "How dare you come near my boy?"

Lee Know let out a dark chuckle and got up, "Poor Hyunjin. Loves his dad so much. Would do anything for this angelic father right?" The order's eyebrows scrunched in confusion. Lee Know continued, "He thinks you are this abusive father who is good to all. Imagine what would happen if he knew about your secrets?"

The older gasped. Lee Know said, "That's right. He'd leave. Then who'd be your precious punching bag?" His father stepped back. Lee Know said, "Here's the deal. You don't try to seperate us, I keep my mouth shut about the blackmail."

His father glared and before he could say anything, Lee Know continued, "Oh and, not to mention, I have a friend who's father got arrested yesterday for illegal business. Actually, he was looking for another 'shady businessman'. A shady businessman, that we both know is very important. And we both know Hyunjin thinks he's just an art dealer."

His father's mouth snapped shut.

Lee Know stood up, causing Hyunjin's father to stumble backwards instinctively. Lee Know said, "The fact that I am calling this a deal, is mercy."

His father nodded with a clenched jaw and walked out saying, "You can spend time with him. But don't you dare open your mouth."

As soon as he left and Lee Know locked the door, Lee Know fell to the ground, his whole body shaking.

Lee Know sighed, and let out a sob. He had his best friend back. He wished he had thought of this sooner. But after all, desperate times call for desperate measures.

Thunder struck, and the stormy clouds enveloped the sky. Rain started pouring at it fwlt like a rainy evening. Lee Know sent Felix a message about him not coming home. Lightning flashed and Lee Know smiled.

He was back home.
