Chapter 26

Felix shook his head lost in a daze and leant his face upwards, tugging Hyunjin's face towards his own. Hyunjin's ears and nose turned slightly red, and his eyes flickered gazing at Felix's lips.

Loud music rung from Felix'x pocket as his phone rung. Hyunjin's eyes shot open as he startled from the sudden loud sound, and Felix snapped out of his daze. Felix pushed Hyunjin away from where he was holding his collar and took out his phone with shaky hands as he watched Hyunjin fall down on the floor.

"Hello? Han?" Felix said, suddenly breathing heavily, and sprinted away after making sure Hyunjin wasn't hurt... physically.

Hyunjin just laid there on his back, leaning himself up with his elbows and his legs splayed in front of him. He cleared his throat trying to get his burning ears to cool down and blinked several times, his eyes wide.

Felix ran to the nearest bathroom, breathing heavily as he heard Han talk on the other side of the phone. Han stopped talking for a moment hearing Felix's ragged breaths. Did I call you at the wrong time Felix?"

Felix nodded rapidly and said, "No! Of course not." Felix blinked confused at his own actions.

"You sure? You sound like you just ran from a mugger..." Jisung said doubtfully and Felix scoffed. "No. Why'd you call?"

"Jeez! Can't I call my best friend?" Jisung whined and Felix said, "I'm coming home after three hours and then you get to come to school too. Can't you just wait?" Felix took a deep breath, he had no idea why he was mad.

Han said, "Um that's the thing. I don't wanna." Felix's eyebrows knit together, "What do you mean?"

"I don't want to come back to school. I'm going to miss doing homework with Lee Know everyday. Can't we make up an excuse to stay longer?" Han said quietly. Felix sighed and said, "Look my class is going to start so I'll get straight to the point. My idiot of a brother loves you. And his favourite part of the day is when he spends it with you. So just tell him you enjoy it so he knows he doesn't have to stop. And even if he does stop doing homework with you every evening, imagine how much more time you get to spend with him if you come to school. Don't you wanna show off your boyfriend?"

Han giggled, "Shut up." Felix smiled and said, "Talk to him. Communication is key." Han nodded and hung up without saying goodbye. Felix sighed knowing Han was in a hurry to text Hyun- Lee Know. Not Hyunjin, Lee Know. "Gosh why can't I stop thinking about that brat." Felix thought shaking his head and walking away.

After school, Lee Know invited the whole friend group home to celebrate Han's recovery. Seungmin and Chan had arrived with Lee Know. IN came running in as Changbin chased behind him. Felix walked inside, immediately getting hit by a pillow Jisung threw at him. Chaos was already bubbling in their home. 

Felix'x and Lee Know's mother walked inside with a stern expression. Everybody froze. IN was standing on the couch. Changbin was in the middle of climbing on top of the couch. Felix and Han were in the middle of a pillow fight on the floor. Chan was on his knees near the television. Seungmin was lying on the table. And Lee Know had his mouth full of cookies. 

Felix and Lee Know's mom said in a stern voice, "All of you are here a lot. Do your families not miss you? Are they paying for all the mess you guys make or are you going to clean all this up when you leave?"

Silence. Except for Lee Know's chewing.

Chan said nervously breaking the silence, "I'm fixing the TV, is that payment?"

Seungmin held back a laugh, and IN and Changbin snickered. Felix hid his smile in the pillow as Han said, "Of course, their dad has been trying to fix that ballot box since ages." Lee Know choked on his cookies.

Their mother sighed and walked away. These children were homeless. 

Before everyone could go back to creating chaos, Lee Know quickly chewed his mouthful of cookies and said, "Ya! Listen up!"

Everyone looked at Lee Know except for Chan who was busy fixing the television. IN said, "Channie focus, they eldest is talking."

Chan scrunched his face and looked at everyone betrayed. Seungmin broke out in laughter, surprising everyone. Seungmin said, "Chan is the oldest here. How did you not know that." IN and Changbin laughed in embarrassment. Han said, "Jeongin was the one who said it, why are you acting embarrassed Binnie?" 

Changbin said, "So he's not embarrassed alone." Lee Know sighed rubbing a hand over his face. Chan immediately said, "Ok joking aside, listen to Lee Know."

Lee Know cleared his throat and sat down. Silence took over the room.

Lee know said, "Do all of you know about Hyunjin?"

Seungmin said, "He's in our English class. Very quiet. Isolated. Thin. Probably doesn't eat enough. Skips classes at least once a weak. Loses concentration n class, probably because of lack of sleep." Chan stood up and put a hand over Seungmin's mouth. Changbin said, "Dude are you a stalker."

Chan chuckled and said, "he's just creepy good at observing." Chan sat down next to him and said, "Yeah, Hyunjin and I used to sit together at lunch. He usually ate mine. Barely ever talked." 

IN said, "Let's cut the chase. Hyunjin and Lee Know used to be best friends. Han here is his real brother. Shit happened after their mom died so this is how it is." Changbin scoffed, "Why the sudden bother?"

Lee Know said quietly but firmly, "During the storm, I was at Hyunjin's place."

Both Felix and Han's head shot up. Han looked shocked while Felix let out a laugh. Everyone looked at Felix confused. Felix said, "No wonder he looked more confident today." Han said, "Why didn't you say anything earlier?" 

Changbin cut in and said, "Does it matter? He's the eldest, he decides everything."
