Chapter 23

Felix woke up groggily. He said, "Lee Know Hyung! Breakfast!" Everyone in the room groaned turning over and hiding in their blankets hearing Felix's loud and deep voice. Felix got up noticing Lee Know's lack of his normal morning shout, "Shut up Yongbok-ah! I'm making your favourite meal!"

Felix frowned walking outside, their bathroom was empty too, so Lee Know was supposed to be in the kitchen. Felix shuddered not seeing him there either. Felix hadn't realized how important their morning interaction had become.

Before Felix could start panicking, he felt his phone buzz as he received a message.

Mina Taara:

I'm at a friend's home. He needed me. Will be here until the storms over.

Felix frowned at the text. He was already worried about ghosting Hyunjin at school and now this. Felix felt his anger boil. Hyunjin hadn't even texted him yet!

Yongbokah:

Wow

Wut r u goin' to tell Han?

Mina Taara:

I'll text him

Yongbokah:

You really don't
care, do you?

Mina Taara:

Excuse me?

Yongbokah:

Whatever, have fun

Your friend is obviously more important than us.

Lee Know furrowed his eye brows, something was obviously wrong. He decided to leave Felix alone to calm down while he texted Han.

Time skip,

Lee Know was sitting on the floor near Hyunjin's bed. He could sit closer but it hurt to see Hyunjin's bruises and bandages. It somehow felt like it was his fault. He couldn't stop thinking about Han either. Han said it was ok that Lee Know was at a friend's house, but he didn't sound particularly ok with it either.

Lee Know didn't want to mess things up with Han. He wanted Han to be the constant in his life.

Lee Know shot up from his spot on the floor when he heard a low groan from the boy in bed. Hyunjin's eyes fluttered open and he let out a whine.

"Shh, it's ok Hyunjin-ah. You're safe now." Lee said immediately. Hyunjin startled and got up quickly. Bad choice.

Hyunjin groaned gripping his head, "Is my head hurt?" Lee Know rolled his eyes, "No, the bandages are just fashion accessories."

Hyunjin said, "What are you doing here?"

"You called me."

"And you came?"

"You can literally see me."

"I've had hallucinations."

"W-what?" Lee Know stuttered. Hyunjin looked away. An awkward silence hung between them.

Hyunjin suddenly looked at Lee Know and said, "Is Felix ok?" Lee Know blinked, did Hyunjin know about the threats too? Lee Know said, "Yes."

Hyunjin said, "H-he was... he said he'd meet me after school yesterday. I guess he forgot."

Lee Know frowned, "You two were going to meet up? Is that where Felix has been going after school most days?"

Hyunjin shrunk, "I'm sorry."

Lee Know sighed and shook his head, "Maybe that's why he was acting cranky through text. He probably felt bad for forgetting."

Hyunjin nodded. Lee Know fiddled with his fingers thinking of Han. What if Han thought he was seeing someone?

Suddenly Hyunjin's eyes widened and he said, "Oh my God!"

Lee Know jumped a little, "What?"

Hyunjin said, "You are here."

Lee Know blinked. He could feel his brain trying to load information.

"You just now realized?"

"No, I thought you hated me. Now you are stuck with me for two days...." Hyunjin said. Lee Know's eyes softened, "I don't hate you. I was just being stupid. I will try and make it up to you. But for now, rest."

Hyunjin pouted, "I miss my sunshine." Lee Know's head snapped up, "I swear if that nickname is for me I will stuff tissues in your mouth!"

Hyunjin raised his hands defensively, "Geez no, I was talking about Felix." Lee Know's eye twitched, "Nevermind, I will put you in an air fryer instead."

Hyunjin chuckled, but it sounded empty. Hyunjin lay back down on bed. Lee Know said, "Come with me."

Hyunjin looked at Lee Know with confusion who continued, "Come stay with us. Han misses you."

"I miss you." was what Lee Know meant.

Hyunjin gulped and looked away. He whispered, "My dad isn't that forgiving." Lee Know put a hand over his eyes.

Meanwhile,

Han was in his bed as he waited for breakfast to be served. Seungmin and Felix were cooking, so all five of them were outside. Except for Han.

Han was sitting alone, wondering why Lee Know left without saying goodbye. Han was looking forward to eating Lee Know's cooking and... Han hid in his blanket. He wanted to spend these two days with him. Maybe their first time as couples.

Maybe Lee Know didn't really like him. Han's eyes watered. Out of all that had happened, this was what finally made him want to cry.

Han heard his best friend enter the room, grumbling to himself, "Never join a couple and two best friends while they cook, you'd be fifth wheeling."

Han sniffled quietly and said, "Who is your brother with?"

Felix snapped, "Like I care!"

Han shrunk. Felix froze and his eyes immediately filled with guilt. "I'm sorry, I am sorry Han. I didn't mean to snap... I just... I think I made a friend who really needed me, feel abandoned..."

Han looked up, "Well, I know he'd be sad." Felix looked at Han and said, "Do you think he'll forgive me?"

Han said, "You better have a good reason to abandon him." Felix saw Han's eyes teary red and pulled him in a hug.

"We should be the elder brothers, not the younger ones." Felix said causing Han to laugh.

Time skip,

Lee Know and Hyunjin were usually quiet. But the quiet was peaceful. Hyunjin felt safer and Lee Know felt some of his guilt melt away.

Chan and Seungmin enjoyed their time together. It was like a stress-free holiday with two goofballs, Jeongin and Changbin, to make them happy.

Han and Felix looked to be enjoying themselves, but Han's insecurity was growing and Felix was growing more and more scared to meet Hyunjin.

What if Hyunjin just wanted to vent?
